Wow..
I did not see that coming. They wore adidas even as west Germany.

Big surprise for me to hear.

I thought the adidas/DFB partnership only began about 1970. Adidas have also made every ball used in World Cup tournaments from 1970 to date.

So many classics here with 1988/90 being my favourite international shirt of all time
Italia 90 kit for me, if I was German it would be the only shirt I’d wear. I have to say though adidas produced some decent keeper jerseys for Germany which generally gets overlooked, keepers sometimes get a bit of a short straw when it comes to kits, excluding Seaman in euro 96!
Probably my best kit though was Belgium 84 away, I remember having to go in to London with my dad to get the subbuteo team as beatties in Watford was always sold out, made by adidas funnily enough.
Think it’s a major faux paux on the German FA

In the statement the DFB alluded to the tender being a fair and transparent process, Adidas got complacent and assumed that the DFB would reject Nike again just like they did in 2007, when Nike offered more money than anyone else.
