I've always been a fan of stories of borthers getting the opportunity to play professionally on the same team. Has that ever happened at Spurs?

Can only think the closest is the Allen cousin’s and the Craig brothers in the academy. I feel we might have had it in the 90’s one first team , one reserve.

John & Andy Polston in 1990.

We had twin brothers Michael & Matthew Craig on the bench for a Europa Conference game a couple of years ago, but they didn't come on.

Nearly 5pm and I've just found out it's deadline day. How things have changed in the last few years.

Spurs' first ever game in the football league took place on 1 September 1908. Danny Steel played and his younger brother, Bobby, made his debut.

The two played together for Spurs until 1912 when Danny returned to Scotland. Both Danny and Bobby captained Spurs for a time.

However, on 29 January 1910, their middle brother Alex made his one and only appearance for Spurs, meaning that for the first, and probably last, time, Spurs had three brothers playing for them in the same match.

Alex's career took a bizarre turn after Tottenham, as his next three clubs were Kilmarnock, Barcelona and Southend. He helped Barcelona to two victories in the Pyrenees Cup, thereby becoming the only Steel brother to win an honour.

This is why I love this forum, thank you all for the responses - really enjoy learning new (new to me) Spurs facts :geek:

Romaine Mundle who rejected a Spurs contract last Summer to join Standard Liege has signed for Sunderland for an undisclosed fee. Seems a lot of ex-Spurs player end up at the Stadium of Light.
