I’m very surprised we didn’t take a gamble on Leon Bailey, I think he’s going to be superb for Villa.

Watched a lot of him, on his day he is incredible but quite not sure if he is a top top player yet. Definitely worth a gamble for Villa at £30m with the Grealish money

They are being linked with Cantrell too.
He would cost something like £40m after they've already lost Skipp and Buendia, Villa probably should spend the money on a defensive/ central midfielder and a defender, they have already enough offensive options with Buendia, Bailey, Traoré, El Ghazi, Watkins etc.

VillaTalk are already lighting the effigy

I can't believe how some of their fans are taking this - Grealish has been nothing short of absolutely class and respectful to Villa, in comparison to Kane.

"Leaving a week and a half before the season starts is an absolute rat move too, really tarnished his legacy at the Villa unfortunately."

Fucking hell ?

It's strange considering, no disrespect to where Villa are at the mo, we'd probably be less resentful about Kane moving to city if the gap were as big as it is between City and Villa.

As we've spoken about, Kane has had chances to win the big titles here - he just hasn't shown up (along with others) at the most vital junctures.

Villa are currently just as likely to go down as they are to get top 4, based on their recent history.

They're also getting £100m for him! We're currently getting lowball offers for Kane, whilst they're getting probably a bit more than he should be worth.

"Reality of the situation is he has been pushing up a move every summer for the past 3 years. All this talk of being loyal, my club, my city is absolute horseshit, he is just another mercenary."

Is this how some of our fans will feel about kane if he goes.

At the end of the day, if the star players want to win big trophies regularly they have to got to the likes of city, madrid etc. Its shit but thats how it is.

I'm not sure how he's been pushing for a move?

His move to us broke down because we thought it'd be a great idea to silly buggers with Villa. He stayed, led them to promotion.

Last couple of seasons there wasn't really any concrete interest in him, he kept Villa up in the first and was outstanding last season.

This season, he's finally got some concrete interest in him and his club have accepted the offer and allowed him to leave.

As far as I can see, Grealish hasn't sulked or tried to force his way out. He has certainly never orchestrated an interview with Sky Sports or leaked his inventions to join City in the press, that's for sure.

Grealish didn't have to stay with them as long as he did. He has also turned up to training this week (unlike someone who likely won't be getting his move after all),

I respect Grealish a lot more after this.

OR

Turn up for the opportunities they do have. I mean that collectively, but also if you're vice captain and can't influence the team, you're not as much of a star as you think.

They actually got full market value + for Grealish because he acted properly and tried to ensure that his boyhood club got properly compensated. The contrast to how Kane has behaved is pretty stark with him trying to force us to sell at a knockdown price.

I think Villa will struggle massively without him, even though they have made some good transfers. They should have enough to stay up though, especially with Martinez in goal.

Does seem an odd signing by them though, when they have been crying out for a striker for 2 years and knowing Aguero would go eventually.

Easily have enough to stay up, and dark horses for a decent finish this season for me, bought really well with buendia, bailey, added to some top players in Martinez, mcginn, luiz, watkins and maybe more to come
