The club really should start paying for our away support in these cup competitions. The fans are the only ones taking it seriously. Season after season they turn up, while successive managers just take them for granted and dick about with terrible team selections. Shameful.

I see everyone is being very patient with our new manager and the rebuild like they said they would 😂
I’m not seeing anyone asking for him to be sacked? Are people not allowed to criticise an obvious error in judgment? Think the bloke is top notch but he got it wrong tonight and will hopefully learn from it.

A major misstep from Ange tonight. 9 changes was always going to produce a disjointed performance that does the people coming in no good at all. Far better to make 5 and keep some fluidity. Perhaps against league 2 opposition you could chance it.

The positive momentum that was building is gone in an instant.

In a season with no Europe we should have had our eyes on both domestic cups.

The most unimpressive goalkeeping display I have ever seen in a shootout to top it off.

Guessed this would happen after a first loss.

Ange out is it now?

Quite worrying how some of you lot can go from 100 to 0 so quickly.

Ange barely had any pre season games to really test out the squad, yes, the SQUAD. He needed to use this game to test out more squad players.

Was it a huge gamble? Yes, but we cannot play the first 11 - 12 players for the whole season.

It's a gamble that didn't pay off, get over it, we move on.

And for the record, i'm quite proud of Sanchez for putting his name forward and stepping up to take a pen. Atleast he had the bollocks to do it, especially after all the shit he's had to take from some of you lot.
This is a forum for bipolar spurs fans only. might have missed that when you signed up.

Some serious overreactions on here. Our second team drew away to Fulham, it’s obviously disappointing to go out of a cup but hardly catastrophic.

We’ve got a very real chance of doing something in the league, so we focus on that for the next few months.
lets hope we can play our 1st 11 every game from now until jan with no injuries then

Incredible ,new manager 4 competitive games in ,has a first 11 of which 8/9 are quality and rotates to look at rest and the children throw the toys out when they let him and us down. Luckily I believe Ange is going do things his way ,lost a couple of games at Celtic before it clicked so nothing unusual.
Exactly

Fulham also made five changes, so I'm guessing if they'd lost the penalty shootout they'd also have pissed away the chance of a trophy?

It's rotation - you will see it from every single PL team - and it's penalties. It happens. Did we rotate too many? Maybe. How else is he going to see what works?

Thats what pre-season is for

So just to be clear you think he was correct to make 8 outfield changes just because we missed a bit of pre-season?

It was clear from the off that it was going to be a struggle. I'd say 90% on here agreed that it should be a strong line-up with a couple of changes to keep it fresh.

Regardless of how well he knows his squad this is definitely on Ange. You just don't do wholesale changes when you have absolutely zero reason to.

Ah, fuck it.

Ange's good credit has taken a massive dive [Edit: too much hyperbole in the moment. It's taken a small dent, but I hope we get some accountability for this fuckup either way. I hope he learns from this. ] with me for some terrible decisions throughout the whole evening. I've hated everything: the awful kit, the terrible lineup, the bizarre subs, the pen taker choices... gross. I thought we were beyond this shit. I guess not.
I have to say, I know he wanted control but letting him design the kit was an absolute mistake. Just not fashionable at all
