Some Dortmund fans views from Reddit.

If we beat them I don't think there is any other team atm that could defeat us in the competition.
This is my worst nightmare. I watch every Tottenham match and have since New Year's 2014. You could say I support them along with Dortmund (please don't kill me). Mostly because of Christian Eriksen and the fact that I hate United, City, Arsenal, and Chelski.

Anyways, I'll say this: Tottenham have not seen an offense like ours. And I don't believe we've seen a defense like theirs. We've seen Bayern and Neuer. But Tottenham swarm to the ball for possession. But they also build in an...unorthodox fashion. They really don't have a real plan in moving the ball forward and really just try to find space. We'll have to basically counter them with the way we move the ball. They make silly possession mistakes sometimes with their midfielders like Son and Chadli. Dele Alli missing a match is going to help us.

I think the key players are going to be Eric Dier and Erik Lamela for Tottenham and for us it will be Gundogan and Auba for us. Toby Alderwiereld is a fucking wall. He's better than Papa. Pains me to say that. If Auba can out speed him, we'll have a chance on the counter from passes from Illy because Kevin Wimmer is no Jan Vertonghen. I'm actually not concerned with them scoring on us if Dele Alli is playing. I think Hummels will have his hands full with Harry Kane but Harry isn't Auba.
I'm happy with the draw. We have to beat the best to win it. Dortmund should definitely win this one. It'll be a very interesting game.
Awwww. Spurs are like, the only other team I watch. I don't want to potentially knock them out.
one of the few teams i did not want us to draw, they are in great form this season
My biggest concern is their fullbacks are some of the few who can match Reus and Miki in terms of speed. Takes a lot of sting out of a potential counter if they sit further back.
Not ideal since we have a big game coming up against Bayern 5 days before the 1st leg to focus hugely on. But the Spurs also have a big fixture in the form of the North London Derby to be done with and an important one for their title chances. So I think both teams will be ready to go to war in Europe!

No underdogs, the best fixture in RO16. Nervous, but excited!
Spurs were definately on my do-not-draw list. But oh well, if we can't beat them, we don't deserve to win the competition anyways.

And I got to say, in my eyes Sevilla and Villareal would have been just as or even stronger draws for us.

Really looking forward to the games!
They are sounding a LOT like we are. This is going to be an epic in every way!

I can imagine it now, Klopp phoning Poch up to give him advice on how to beat BvB.
I'd put the phone down then phone him back and give him advice on how not to be a mid table team.

Re: Bill Nicholson's motivational team talk before 1963 Cup-Winners-Cup Final.
The Spurs players were in the dressing room prior to the game talking about the quality of the individuals in the Atletico Madrid team and worrying how they were going to stop them. Bill Nicholson steps forward, "You realise that even now they're talking about us. They're saying, 'They got Greaves and Smith up front, Jones and Blanchflower in midfield, Norman at the back. How the hell are we going to beat them?'" (Slightly paraphrased.)

Spurs went out and won 5-1, becoming the first British club to win a European trophy.

Borussia Dortmund, no worries.

It was actually Nicholson who was talking about the quality of the opposition, and it was Blanchflower, who wasn't even in the starting 11, who stepped forward and gave the inspirational speech you paraphrase.

Really don't see the panic, if I could have picked this I would have myself especially with the home tie last. If we get knocked out now, we have been beaten by probably the favourite and can concentrate fully on the PL. If we win, which I believe we can, imagine the confidence that we will go into the quarter finals with considering a few of the other favourites will be out. Plus if we win our players will be buzzing. Bring it on I say.

I like how a mid table tie is the tie of the round. Nothing like creating a buzz out of a name alone.

You could argue that the fact that they're both having below par seasons makes this tie even more important. I never watch any EL games other than Spurs, but I'll be watching this one. It is a great draw all round.
