I cant blame him for not wanting to go to Qatar at this point. I'm sure he still has some ambition of playing at a decent level rather than effectively go into retirement out in the Middle East.

Agree. If he was going there would be loads saying he's just going for the money and a little sun.

From what we saw of him most of the time last season it looked like he's already retired....Sad but true:inpain:

To be honest, I hope he stays. We need physicality at times, including today, and Defoe doesn't have it. Reintegrate KP style.

Ade should be the one staying not Defoe. Soldado can do everything Defoe can do and more and Ade has the physical advantage over Defoe.

Several years ago my husband's firm had a box round about where this is, and I although he only got to use it a couple of times, I was able to go too. It was great! I thought there would be no atmosphere, but with the crowd sounds piped in, you almost forgot you weren't outside. You still shouted at the players to encourage them. :)

It's half time by the look of it, so no need to look out. He knows what the pitch look like. lol

I have a vague guesstimate of £12 a year for the west stand????
Incidentally, Rose, Daws and Chadli were in the box on Thursday. Couldn't get a picture unfortunately. Surprisingly, Rose showed no emotion whatsoever when we scored. Couldn't see the others.
£12 a year you say... I reckon I can stretch to that!

If we don't sell Adebayor and Assou-Ekotto in this window, they should be a part of the team. They are both good enough for the team, and it would be like two quality signings. I am sad to see that the management don't rate them in the stands when we where playing Swansea at home. They might be injured at current time, but Adebayor's smile and Benny's afro will give the other players a good laugh :)

Defoe and Adebayors poor form last season has a lot to do with the lack of chances we create.
As you can now see even with soldado we are struggling for goals. Most of our goals were from Bale and a lot of them wonder strikes from outside the box. We don't create chances in the box for our strikers.
Really hope Eriksen provides this.
Chadli and Townsend never get to the byline and always cut in to shoot. Too predictable for fullbacks.

I'm sort of hoping we go for Eriksen-Holtby-Lamela in behind Soldado on occasions. That's creativity in folds and all of those players love to show for the ball and can play an intelligent pass. If you put a holding 2 like Sandro/Capoue ( :( ) and Dembele/Paulinho in behind that 3 it can still give them the freedom to focus on the attack.

The idea of 433 is the two wingers inverted as they say, draw the defenders thinking they are going to shoot, the full backs should be taking over as the winger at this point. if the inverted winger cannot shoot he release the full back for him to cross.
Townsend showed this with walker and bobby got his chance today.
You need two great full backs to do this.

I think Ade's a lost cause. Offer him £100,000 a goal and we might see something; apart from that...peh.

He is dire, if we are pinning our hopes on Adebayor for the coming season, I have a really bad feeling about how its going to end. I hoping he goes today.
