As much as it's frustrating not being able to get rid of someone who is not prepared to put a full shift in, you've also got to consider the other side. He may genuinely be happy here, enjoying the club and the players around him. If that's the case though, I fully expect him to give 100% this season if he comes back into the team. No excuses. He's not a bad player to have if he does give his all, but he certainly has to display a better attitude.

If what's true?

If he doesn't want to go then there's not a lot we can do - contracts work both ways.

Couldn't be arsed to play last season and is now turning down offers to play elsewhere knowing he isn't wanted at Spurs.

He should have been on the bench yesterday, AvB really needs to up his game with talents like this. He is a good player and you're not going to get model pros all the time.

Ade is nowhere near match fitness - frustrating player because he can be great but no real hunger - 2nd season running he misses pre season training (last year Citeh, this year us)

He's different than Soldado so in that respect he has a lot of value. Can hold the ball up, decent header, and can drop deeper to help build up the attack. Better get his head on straight though. There's the rub.

Yep, that's what Redknapp was good at - managing Ade.

Yeah, Kranjcar, Corluka, Defoe, Bassong, Gomes, Pavlyuchenko, Boateng, Pienaar, Dos Santos, Taarabt etc etc etc.. All speak/spoke wonderfully of Harry's famous man management ability!!. As for Ade, Harry never 'managed' him, he just let him play the way he wanted to play, as was the case with every player (not my words, they are the words of VdV). Something along the lines of, "There is a tactics board in the changing room but we never use it, there aren't instructions or orders".. Well to be fair to Redknapp, VdV totally left out the "just go out and run abaat a bit", that he famously told Pav to do

If we have to rely on him this season then its going to end badly I believe, I am not holding my breath for better attitude work ethic.

Lol, we're trying to swap Ade for Torres now? Are we doing the transfer-window-equivalent of poking Chelsea with a stick to try and annoy them or something?

AVB didn't like Torres at Chelsea. This is a non-story IMO. Maybe we're just trying to piss Chelsea off.

If Ade is ready to work and gain his spot in the XI then I'm all for it. Unplayable on his day and at their best Ade offers more than Soldado.
