Our fans crack me up. If we were to spend that sort of money on Welbeck everyone would be doing their nut but because that ohter lot are signing him people still do their nut. He's about as brainless as Walcott, fuck him.

Walcott got 22 goals and 16 assists last season. Not bad for a brainless winger. What does that make our wingers?

OptaJoe:
25% - The chance conversion rate of both Daniel Sturridge and Danny Welbeck in the Premier League last season. Matched.

chadli, eriksen, lamela, adebayor, townsend, lennon

Just compare the names to the ones below them.

LOL. If anyone thought we have the squad for 4th this season they are sorely mistaken.

Defoe scored well over a hundred goals but he still wasn't anyone near the intelligence of a Berbatov or Keane. I reckon Welbeck will score a number of goals just because Arsenal have great creative players around him. He lacks the cutting edge to make the difference in big games though. Our problem last season wasn't beating the lesser teams though and Welbeck would only suit us for those games. Our big problem was the form against the top 5 teams which not only loses us 3 points but hands our rivals 3 points in return. We don't need a Welbeck but we need a difference maker, a match winner and we've failed on that front again in this window sadly.

It's never all about names.

If you'd have told me we'd get absolutely ruined by a midfield of Henderson, Allen and an ageing Gerrard, I'd have told you to fuck right off.

Not about names though, it's about getting some identity and pattern of play. Real and Barca had much better names than Atletico last year, but the latter had a vision and incredible work-rate.

Walcott scored 6 goals last season. Where did you get those stats from?

I may have been looking at the previous season's stats. :cautious:

Regardless, his goal/assist per game ratio is a lot better than our wingers' anyway.

Being better than our wingers isn't something to shout about.
