Scum are now the English side and we are the mercs. What a turnaround.

I really wanted Welbeck. Always rated him.

So Arse can get an extension on the Welbeck transfer! Amazing!

If the deal is agreed in principle and both teams are okay with it, you can apply for an extension. They're not doing anything out of the ordinary.

Looks like it'll be happening now.

I would not pay that kind of money for Welbeck...you are kidding arent you 40m quid for a player who can't get into the United squad? :ROFLMAO:

Seems a bit much. The fee not so much, players are a lot more expensive now, but the wages are too high. The funny thing is Mata could find himself in the same position he was in at Chelsea.

Just glad this guy isn't our wide left attacker option. Would have been a very expensive mistake.

thank goodness we didn't/couldn't get him. £16m and £100k/week is foolish money for a forward that has scored all of 37 goals in his entire career.

Good. At the beginning of the summer I guess they'd sign Mandzukic. Massive step down.

I'm glad we stayed well away from this.

I'm certain we'll sign Jay Rodriguez in January for much cheaper than that, he also knows how Poch wants him to play, and he has a much better scoring record than Welbeck.

I'm also glad we didn't pursue this. Expensive and his track record suggests he isn't a prolific goal scorer for a striker. The potential is there and he offers a lot of movement but without goals that just becomes running around... hopefully Spurs will push through the Jay Rodriguez deal in January, if that's the player Pochettino really wants.

I wouldn't say @degoose has been living in a bubble at all? I'd suggest he's been watching this shitty Levy run club finishing 4th, 5th, 4th, 5th, 6th, in the last 5 seasons, rather than enjoying a successful season such as under Alan Sugar, when finishing in the top half was a result of a good season (y)

Cheers @coopsieyid obviously @Arthur hucksake was in a drug fuelled state in the 90's so he just imagined spurs were great back then (y)

Not gonna lie I'd be pissed off if we spent £16m on Welbeck. I know a lot of my Arsenal supporting 'mates' at work are gonna be pissed at this :ROFLMAO:

Welbeck has scored 14 goals in the past 4 years for United in the Prem. They say he's better at linking the play but he only has 4 assists in that time.

Adebayor almost has that tally last year with 11 goals and 4 assists in 21 games.

Arsenal needed a goal scorer and instead they got Danny Wellbeck. I cant believe how some people were so desperate for him.

He is pony.

At least he's gone somewhere where he'll keep his England place, regardless of form.

Fair enough mate. I've watched a fair bit of him and he's impressed me more often than not and I do think he'd be a goof fit for the system.

Anyway, all about opinions .

I bet you hope my opinion is correct now?
