I hope your right, because I get the feeling all the above is being done to fill there pockets once they sell the club and from there it will be pot luck as to whether we sink or swim(y) there are PLENTY of clubs out there that cant fill a big stadium and as a result dont spend money on the best players, infact there are PLENTY of clubs with big fan bases that sell out each and every game and dont spend on better players. Its a tricky situation to manage and in all honesty id rather have a more successful team on the field (spend some more money on proper talent) borrow money for stadium then pay it back once build and we are selling out each match because people want to see quality.

Thanks for the polite response (y)... You've hit on the main point, though. The chances are ENIC will sell as soon as the stadium is completed, and they will undoubtedly seek the best possible price, and understandably so. I've read that Levy currently values the club between £400mil and £450mil, but believes the club will be worth around £1billion once the stadium is completed.

I can't hold it against them for attempting to gain the biggest possible price for their investment, afterall, that's their business.

However, what do you think any possible future owners would prefer to buy? Would they prefer to buy a club with zero, or very minimal debt? Or would they prefer to buy a club with hundreds of millions of pounds of debt?

Would the potential new owners be likely to invest heavily in a squad when the club is carrying hundreds of millions of pounds of debt? Or would the potential new owners be likely to invest more money into a squad isn't carrying that massive debt?

See my point? No matter what anyone thinks of ENIC, we are in a much better state than when they took over the club, and they'll be leaving the best possible platform for any potential suitors to well and truly move our club to a level that ENIC can't / refuse to take us to.

Alan Smith saying that Arsenal have signed him.

I called it earlier, I said all a wind up to give us a lift and bring us back down to earth.
The only plus being, those twats outside the Emirates did not want him, they were cheering when they heard it was off.

Alan Smith saying that Arsenal have signed him.

Meh, he was a dopey fucker on the pitch and I've not seen or heard anything from him since retiring, to make me believe he's any different off the pitch.

He's probably just keen for Arseanal to sign Welbeck because it'll mean he can actually pronounce the first letter of his surname when he's commentating on SkySports.

Welbeck's surely going somewhere even if it's just on loan. He won't get a game at utd unless their strikers all get injured.

BBC saying 16m deal utd to goons.

Not worth it for us I don't think. We need a battering ram up front not a kid with a 1990s flat top.

To be honest, in a way I'm kind of glad Welbeck hasn't come. I don't think I can face another Soldado style thread where half of SC beats him and the other half beats him off. We are one hell of a bipolar fanbase.

Good. An absolute donkey. Never rated him. Doesn't have the raw talent of Sturridge who was in a similar position a few years ago. He'll be gone in two year's time to Hull or Sunderland for half the price.

Our fans crack me up. If we were to spend that sort of money on Welbeck everyone would be doing their nut but because that ohter lot are signing him people still do their nut. He's about as brainless as Walcott, fuck him.

He's better than Sanogo (who isn't) and for that reason him going to that other mob down the road is disappointing, but equally wasn't that keen on him coming to us.

We do need someone else up front, just not sure he was the answer.
