I got banned for being right about some ITK when POTL was wrong! Told I should not go against the great POTL so I told them where they could stick their cryptics by posting a list of 40 names blue and yellow could have been , through a mate.

I got banned multiple times for profanity and in the end it came down to me being a tad too filthy in a couple of posts. Not sure what the world has come to when a group of football fans can't discuss the relative merits of anal sex when the wife's on the blob - talk about nanny state!

COYS is a good forum and a lot of good fans on it and it's run by Prof who has always been very civil when I have dealt with him.

BUT the Mods are a bunch of jumped up, Mini-Hitlers.

How many times did I get temporary bans and restrictions, probably a hundred.

Good luck to anyone on here that still uses it, only thing I really miss about it is the Racing threads. I think I had over 20k posts on COYS when I finally decided not to apologise for the umpteenth time over something very trivial, I'll never darken it's doors again.

Going into the toilets at work after some nasty people said somethings they didn't like and sitting clothed on the toilet saying "you're banned. you're on a 2 week ban. you're never allowed on here again" then breaking down when all the same nasty people are still there after he's finished his cry wank.

I appreciate there's 2 sides to every story (banning) but the number of v decent folk banned for frankly pathetic reasons is quite bizarre.

I met (virtually of course) some good lads on COYS, a couple of them I got stuff for here in the states that was unavailable in the UK, and they did the same sending stuff over to me. Others I actually gave some of my Spurs stuff to that I knew would be better off in a good home, pretty cool shit too like the original newspapers from the double winning season when we won the cup, and my old car tag from Virginia that read "COYS N17". So it was nice to pass along some things I felt could use a better home and have some personal contact with people. But buggar me, some of the mod stuff was beyond belief. Here's an example from my email archive:

"We have suspended your account on Coys because of this post of yours in the BNL.
"Philadelphia sports fans, totally classless. Always have been, always will be."
We have taken this action because your post is a breach of CCC4, and could be seen as aggressive to members who live in Philadelphia."

I mean seriously? First off I think that only one bloke lived in Philadelphia and he agreed that their fans were classless idiots. My post followed a news article about a Philadelphia fan who puked over someone sitting in front of him.

One more just for a laugh from the mods:
"Your line "We are so fickle it is laughable." cannot be anything else but a dig at other members,before we can move on with this we need you to understand our concerns and that you will refrain from such comments in the future."

I still don't understand the thinking behind that one - can anyone explain it?

Yup, my brother in laws an Eagles fan & that makes me sort of an Eagles fan I guess & from what I can tell Eagles fans do indeed consider themselves, with pride, to be classless. Don't know about the Phillies. American footballs one thing but I really can't be getting excited about Rounders

Yep, banned after about 7 years for lurking...

To be honest, I did like the forum. The rules are heavy handed yes, but it's also nice for threads to not get de-railed by bickering and arguing (not saying that this is always the case here, all forums have the same issue at times).

However, the freedom of speech here is refreshing.
