Watching the Bayern match and I'm pretty convinced that we're in a new era of football where either no one's bothering to defend properly or the defensive side of the game is just petering out, seriously for a team who is supposed to be European Champions they don't half defend like amatuers sometimes.

Think its inevitable. Even traditional FBs are talked about more in terms of what they offer in attack than how good they are at defending, and CBs are expected to be able to play 3v2 passing drills on the edge of their 6 yard box.
