This league cannot be real, surely? Ban Turkish clubs from everything until further notice.

UEFA should ban the Turkish league until they show they have their house in order, and put in place far stricter rules about this type of behavior, including dissent from players, with harsher penalties for any transgression.

Start deducting points. At the very least this game that was abandaned should be awarded 3-0 to the other team, as the team that walked off forfeited the game.

Time to bring their season to a close and have a complete break until their new season starts in summer 2024. During the close down everyone can have a complete rethink on how they want things to go next season and ensure severe punishments are available for those that transgress toughened rules.

A week or two so I was watching Fenerbache players celebrating at the end of a match that they won. It was ridiculous, it was like what you see at the end of the season here for a title winning team.

Not surprised they ended up being attacked. Mind you, I was at a couple of matches in Istanbul earlier in the season, and the intensity of the fans is mad.

So the players are at fault for celebrating a win? Is that what you're saying? Turkish fans need banning from football for the foreseeable future. If you can't handle your emotions at a result then you shouldn't be at a football match (or any sporting event) where results are out of your control.

I'm all for players celebrating but they were definitely doing it in a way that they knew would enrage the home fans, dancing around in the middle of the pitch minutes after the final whistle. Given the well-known volatility of Turkish fans and the hatred between Fenebahce and Trabzonspor fans in particular you'd think they'd have had more sense. They're 30 points clear, it's not like they'd just won a 6-pointer. Some of the Fener staff sensed the impending trouble and were trying to get the players to dial it down a bit and leave the pitch, it was only after they started dancing around that the first fan or two came onto the pitch.

It doesn't excuse the reaction from the fans at all but players bear some responsibilty in that situation to not throw petrol on the fire.

Sorry, maybe I am alone in this but I can't see any justification for attacking a football player because they "celebrated too much". Just take the team's loss and walk out the stadium.
