I thought they already were tested - shit show this. Youre right about the 10 days and im presuming theyre getting tested today which will make it nine days i think.

It was easier to change the scheduling where there are no fans so i doubt they would push the Leicester game back etc - theyd rather postpone it.

To be honest id love a free run at beating Liverscum and have two weeks rest
I had Covid back in August and I Thought it was 10 days from
The result or when you first showed symptoms?

I'm assuming most of them tested positive yesterday, making today Day 1 - it's 10 full days after the test. That makes the Leicester game Day 10 - they'd still have 4 hours left at kick-off.

Spurs fans: So Brighton have 8 first team players injured or suspended, what a great time to play them.

Football gods............................. Oh you're spurs fans, sorry i didnt realise. Lets see what we can do here.

Unless Uefa postpone Thursdays game too, we will have plenty of space to fit them in.
I think Brighton would agree to postpone things

We will now need to fit in two games if this gets postponed. Gonna be packed out towards end of the year I imagine.
Why would the postponed games need to be played this month
Surely they will be held over till February at least

Yep, looks like we're going out of the ECL, and much as I want us to win it, won't be any tears from me. We threw qualification away if we do go out, but it is as it is, and may turn out to be for the best

Problem is that as I understand it it's 10 days of isolation, with "Day 1" being the day after the positive test is recorded. That makes next Thursday Day 10, meaning we'd still be down at least 7 players and with everyone else being considered a close contact. I guess they could potentially move it to the Friday night, but that would mean also pushing back Liverpool and West Ham by a day which is probably considered too much chaos what with policing, staffing etc
They surely won't push a game back by a day.
It'll be played next year, probably in the spring

I think thats what we meant. We would postpone the game to next year and if we do go out of the thursday games we will certainly be able to play both brighton and burnley during the week. Leicester would depend on their europe league progress.

How long you need to self-isolate
If you test positive, your self-isolation period includes the day your symptoms started (or the day you had the test, if you do not have symptoms) and the next 10 full days.

If you get symptoms while you're self-isolating, the 10 days restarts from the day after your symptoms started.

So if they took the test yesterday I am reading that as this is day 2? Or if any had symptoms before the test it starts from then, but with us playing Sunday I doubt any that played would have had symptoms then.

Yesterday was "the day your symptoms started (or the day you had the test, if you do not have symptoms)". That makes today the first of "the next 10 full days". The last of those 10 full days would be next Thursday.

Would be shocked if this goes ahead, it’s in both teams best interests to postpone it.

I imagine we’ll find out 57 minutes before kick off and that some blokes with brooms are working overtime to fix this.

Gil and Emerson presumably tested positive earlier as were ill on Sunday
I wonder how many are ill, and how many testing positive with little or no symptoms

Brighton will be only to pleased to call it off with their injury situation.

Honestly, we rarely get the breaks and then when we do something like this happens!!

With the current covid situation, the PL should allow all clubs in the remaining games of the season to have five subs. Players returning immediately from covid would not be fully fit.

This. Apparently, all the smaller PL clubs voted against this as it was perceived to give bigger clubs an advantage ( they fail to take in consideration bigger clubs tend to participate in more competitions/travel etc) . Meanwhile, Serie A, La Liga, Bundesliga, Ligue 1 have been using 5 subs since the start of the season.

Didnt even realise it was back to 3. Should be 5 until after the 2022 World cup season is finished.

It wasn't just the smaller clubs, Nuno also voted against it as he believed the current 3 subs per game was way too many and proposed a scrapping of substitutions altogether.

Did Spurs really do such a dumb thing as propose no subs, and indeed vote against three subs.
I thought we would favour five subs, I certainly do

I think the five subs rule will change next season given the circumstances around the world cup etc - there are more and more games now and three subs is pretty archaic.

For me, three is plenty. Given the cynical way subs are often used i'd be struggling to see the overall benefit. An extra few minutes more lost to each game where the ball is only in play for not very long as it is. If you're going to have five then you either need to make games longer or ban the use of subs in the last ten minutes or something because far far too often they are used as nothing more than a time wasting tactic..
