You could make a pretty good combined team from Spurs and Benfica, their defence, forwards, midfield and Sandro.

I'd probably want a keeper in there somewhere...

What gets me is that we don't progress our own youth on. They don't get any better. Townsend is fucking atrocious. Absolutely atrocious and he doesn't learn. He still doesn't get his head up; it's always the same, head down, run, lose ball. Change the bloody record Andros. Bentaleb actually looks worse than he did on his debut at Soton. He actually created a big chance when he stole the ball in midfield. We had a 2 on 2 with Soldado making a great run in front him. What did Bentaleb do ? Head down and try and dribble his way through. Chance lost. Lennon is a nonentity. Doesn't impact games whatsoever. Our attacking players literally don't play with any level of maturity. It's all head down, don't look up, miss opportunities to put players through and eventually lose the ball.

I always see these calls for Townsend to play left wing. Don't think i've seen him have one good game there.

Lennon and him offering nothing. Siggurdson is doing what he does out wide in CM (very little)

On a plus side Chadli and Soldado have linked up well a couple of times, But Soldado's head is gone inside the box, that was why it was so great that when his confidence was high from winning us a game he wasn't played again

Agree with all of it. Especially the bit about Soldado. If you wanted to ruin a guys confidence after he had just got it back a bit, you'd sit him on the bench for the next 4 games. Well done Tim.

He played 34 games, and when he was injured about this time last season everyone was crying on here. More importantly our results were affected too.

I said integral, not he scored lots of goals.

But if he didn't get hardly any goals, and didn't get many assists.....how was he integral?


Did he.....run around a bit?

There was one point where some weak play from Townsend led to a counter attack from them, and Rose was advanced of Townsend, he knew the guy was running free down the right, but instead of trying to stick with him, he stuck out some lazy half arsed leg to try and foul the man, and couldn't even do that so just let him run off unopposed. There's lack of fitness then there's lack of heart/desire, That lack of desire would've made Paulinho ashamed. And this is supposed to be a home grown player (ie, the one's that if you expect one thing from it's desire and commitment)

I feel like we don't have a manager and the players are just making it up as they go along. The problem with that is they are not good enough to use this tactic.

Adam Johnson has done a fair bit more in terms of consistent productivity unfortunately... Townsend talks a good game, but then so does Danny Rose.. have they improved over the season though..

In fairness both have had very disruptive injuries. Should be given the same time Walker got after coming back from Villa
