At this risk of this coming back to bite me in bum, there is always the chance this could be a genius move and everything could work out incredibly for them.

Very low risk forecast, my friend! ? Arteta must be way more of a genius than Darwin, Napoleon and Jesus in one to figure out how to marsh by himself all those apes, including also fans, their toxic morale poisoning pressure cooker Ape Fan TV, demoralised or incompetent management personnel and not fussed bean counting owners into a CL spots contending club, particularly given they are not playing CL football for a 4th year in a row next year and their revenue is relatively declining in comparison with everyone else's.

They need to leave him alone for a couple of years at least to comprehensively pick up from where they are which is never going to happen because they (as a whole, including current and prospect players)'re desperate for CL money, status and entertainment. The Arse is in ruins!

Everton look set to get ancelotti and arsenal get arteta. The scenes. Mind you I think arteta might suprise a few learning of guardiola but I think arsenal needed an experienced boss.

Is Arteta even their no. 1 choice? I know their board has taken loads of stick for their decision making of late, but even so, it wouldn't make any sense for their board to wait this long to approach and appoint him if they were convinced that he was the one to succeed Emery.

There were reports too that they looked at him before appointing Emery but decided against it. And then to wait this long to finally get round to getting him, doesn't strike me as he was their outright clear choice.

David Ornstein said yesterday that some of the Arsenal hierarchy prefer Vieira to Arteta because Vieira has first team managerial experience. Never mind Vieira doing mediocrely at best at the jobs he's had.

They're just putting blind faith in another Solskjær effect.

Think mourinho was first choice but we got him first

I'm not sure Arteta is the right choice for them right now. Totally guessing of course, but if his football is going to be Pepe like, he doesn't have the players to pull it off or the time on the training ground to get his ideas over (Jose was complaining about this just a few days ago). This could go spectacularly wrong.

I am shocked that they would choose him. He just doesn't have the experience in a higher position than assistant coach. Seems under qualified even if he was the assistant at a big club.

Personally I think Arteta was the main reason behind the Citeh success story and I reckon he’ll achieve the same at Arsenal.

I know for a fact via a lass I chatted to on the train in coded language who used to iron his pants at the dry cleaners that he was pulling his punches saving up the best stuff all this time for Arsenal- love of his heart § guardians of his dreams she quoted him saying all in tears, he'll basically reinvent the game at the emirates. In concrete and among many, he has these potions of magical elixir in his basement - they'll turn into killer bees bar Ozil who'll turn into a killer owl. It's going to be horrendous and quite scary actually, a force so migthy and wild would be unleashed that the FA would need to beg the man to rein it in a bit every other sunday.

So they are hiring a guy who lost the interview last time to Emery. Oh ok, that makes sense.

Hoping it goes spectacularly wrong obviously but the fuckers do have a habit of falling on their feet.

Sounds like there is a Spurs fan on their board. Otherwise there really can not be any way they would hire Emry who was woefully underqualified to lead a team that is supposed to be one of the best in one of the toughest leagues in the world and a contender for the Champions League. Then after sacking him, they look to hire somebody even LESS qualified!!!

Honestly I am loving this

Fuck a duck. Good luck to him. NOT, obviously

Common Sense says he’s got absolutely no chance of significantly turning things around but there is still that slim outside chance. Needs massive investment and still hasn’t anywhere near the experience to juggle all the balls he'll need to
How bloody Spursy would that be!

At least there is no pressure on him. The fans don’t expect much and it’s not as if they pay that much to watch then every week

Plus there best player who’s on about 350k a week is just starting to turn on the style again. That slow walk off the pitch last week was poetry in motion

I don’t want to sound hyperbolic but It’s safe to say they’ll be relegated hiring Arteta
