The Gunners have a fandom to rival One Direction and they are just as annoying and now we can't have anything nice

Arsenal won club of the year at the inaugural Facebook Football awards on Tuesday. Oh, and Alexis Sanchez was named player of the season. And obviously Arsene Wenger took home Manager of the Year.

This is, of course, just two days after Jack Wilshere inexplicably won Goal of the Season on Match of the Day.

Notice a pattern developing? The awards weren't voted for by critics, players or managers - they were voted for by fans. And the votes got hijacked.

Anyone who gets involved in online polls will have known well before Gary Lineker pointed it out on TV that any vote that has anything to do with Arsenal is doomed.

The fandom takes over. It's like One Direction, only with more balls and marginally better music:

But couldn't it just be that Arsenal deserve to win all these polls?

Well, the Jack Wilshere example would indicate not. Charlie Adam's 65-yard effort against arguably the world's best goalkeeper, in Thibaut Courtois, was a once-in-a-lifetime strike. Wilshere's, while spectacular and technically difficult, was nothing of the sort.

And everyone knew it. And he still won.

The clever people at Sky Sports even made up their own poll without any Arsenal players in it, just to get a proper result.

So, if you are one of the Arsenal fandom, well done. You've ruined the fun for everyone else, but still won.

Remind you of anyone?

So Arsenal fans are fun vampires. They don't suck blood, they just suck.

Fuck knows what it is, but most gooners I've met or known over the years, whether in the UK or overseas, have been snide, humourless, boring, and for the most part, complete and utter bum boy wankers.

Kind of people you want to throw down the stairs Benny from the Bronx style.

I did see that bit but chose to ignore it as there isn't an argument imo

I think the fact he is huge and good in the air makes people overlook his flaws

True but on the other side he is 23 and has won the league 2 years in a row for 2 different clubs in 2 different countries so he must be doing something right.

Probably pre-pubescent plonkers, pulling their penises (or is that penii) praying popular polls
on the Internet prove possible outcomes can be prevented or even plagued by playing silly buggers.

Christ, one of my best mates mates is a goon and informed me he voted for Wilshire's goal. I must clearly be deranged to even consider talking to him

Regardless of the subject, that's a truly atrocious piece of journalism. How the hell does a hack like that get a job?

I think it was proven that over 50% over their so-called Twitter "followers" were bot accounts.
