What I don’t understand about this deal is if reports are true that Traore himself hired Mendes to push the deal through, I’d expect it to get done.
Mendes holds so much power at Wolves.
Hey, there's still a 10 to 20% chance we can get it done. And if Mendes is pushing, you never know. They're brining in Sanches, and who knows what other toys Mendes may find for them. Granted, this is highly unlikely, but ya never know. Tomorrow could be full of surprises. Or, completely and utterly prosaic! It's been that kinda strange window.

If tomorrow seals the deal for Emerson and nowt else, I'm cool. As I believe Nuno has enough strength in the squad to compete on multiple fronts. Yeah, Traore would be a huge coup. But, maybe it something that we come back to in January, after Nuno has been able to really, truly get his arms around all of our players' strengths and weaknesses.

For now, we have a front 3 selection of: Kane, Moura, Sonny, Stevie B, Gil, Scarlett, and Sess.

I worry a little bit more about midfield, tbh... Dele, PEH, Skippy, Winksy, Lo Celso. And who the fuck knows about Tanguy? Sounds like he is staying. Maybe Nuno can kick his ass into gear. Or at least try. Can't have someone making 200K a week sitting on their ass doing F-all.

Sorry, I digressed. Back to Adama... I will be hoping and wishing and praying a rabbit from a hat is pulled.

I agree, its a disgrace how Ndombele has been, I cant wait for him to get out of our club, total robbery on his part, cant get yourself fit and motivated for the game when you're on 200k a week? Fuck off.

Just pay £40m for Traore? I think madness is setting in. He's a unique player, but that price is insane.

In a month or so people will be whining about how much we paid when they realise theses no substance to him.

How do his and Neto's stats compare?

This guy will solve our ball progression issues. Should absolutely be our priority signing today - get it done Don Fabio.

Daniel James going for 30 and you think 40 for the best dribbler in the league is madness?

Id pay more personally. I think he would give us something totally different in attack

Are you actually saying this guy has no substance about him?

Have you ever played football?

Every window there's a player that's absolute marmite to fans. We convince ourselves that a player that has obvious flaws is the second coming and get really sad when it doesn't happen.

Personally not too disappointed. Yes he has crazy pace and is a threat that teams focus on but his 1 on 1 said all you need to know about him. He's just a quicker version of sissoko and I'm sure we can sign better in time.

I dunno, while not carbon copies of the same player, Sissoko and Traore are both head down players who lack technical ability who can’t pass or shoot but are both big units that use their strength as a weapon.

£40m on deadline day.. their most dangerous asset, Wolves worried about relegation without him. I can’t see this getting done.

£40m is way too much for what he’d bring, unless the final product issue gets solved, but it didn’t get solved under his previous manager…!!

If he had a final product we wouldn't be in the running for him!

Is anyone other than us in the running for him? Perhaps if he smashes it this season they’ll be other big clubs in for him but it would appear that most top clubs are more than happy for him to stay at Wolves for the time being.

It just seems like Mendes suddenly throwing some sunshine Wolves way last night suggests something might be happening. And if I was Wolves I would happily give up Traore if it meant I got Renato Sanches on loan, and funded 80% of moves for Goncalo Guedes and Sven Botman. They already have plenty of forward options - Jimenez, Silva, Hwang, Trincao, Neto, Podence, and adding Guedes to that means they should not miss Traore at all and will actually be a more complete side.

Just pay the £40m...

Dan James is going for £30m and Ramsdale for £28m.

THIS! i mean, im not sure he's what we need. but nuno clearly does. You have to pay a premium, and the 2 deals you mentioned proves this.

We don’t even know if £40m is the price. Should we just pay whatever they’re asking even if it’s more than £50m? What’s the cut off point? £60m? £70mil? Etc etc

I thought lots of the reports were saying that we had agreed a fee with Wolves, it was just the structure that was the problem?
