A performance of a patchwork team, really. We made too many daft decisions and weren't clinical enough at the other end to make up for it. Happens.

That said I'd like it if we closed down shots outside the box more because it's proper nervy.

It's pretty evident where our shortcomings are and a lot of that is not down to Ange.

Yet still people are quick to jump on him.

Its fucking boring.

I like coming on here as its the only real place I can share joy with Tottenham fans.

But some people kill the mood instantly by being so OTT with criticism.

Did Ange get stuff wrong? Probably.
Who gives a shit. He's got a hell of a lot right and deserves a bit of leeway.

What coach gets everything right, they all have their flaws.

I am more than prepared to give him time and patience.

The real testing time will be when he has a squad more fitting to his desires and if you see the same issues, then is the time to get stuck in - even if I don't agree with it.

But I am starting to get weary from the OTT reactions and shit stirrers in here.
The game thread is particularly toxic. You have to love some of the criticism that goes on in there because others will often see aspects we miss, so when done well, it's a great place to spend time even when we're losing. But as you said, the OTT commentary of "get rid", "Son has left for Asia", "worse than Conte and Jose combined", blah blah blah. it is tiresome. Probably should have a second game thread for us "happy clappers".

Didn’t see the game. Was it a deserved defeat?

sounds like we had goals ruled out? Hit the woodwork bunch of time?

Is Kulu ok?

Have to say it really is when Ossie Ardiles was in charge in the early 90s. Just to easy for Brighton. One ball over the top, curtains and we all know that defence is there for the taking. Horrible that the team is down to the barebones but some of our decisions with and without the ball proved decisive/catastrophic. I would like Ange to be brave with our own youngsters and give them a break something that you have to admire Brighton for. I would be all for at least trying this approach then throwing on so called experience if it got that bad.

I did love our spirit and the fight at the end loved Veliz reaction to his first goal was special. It's not the be all and end all with this result just with the Spammers in a great spot now, Utd breathing again and Villa enjoying a fine night from it despite their defeat. That CL spot is very much open for any it seems. Nice to see the Goons getting hit where it hurts, Citeh/Scousers I would expect to contest to be champions again. Our own destiny is relying on a return of injuries and suspensions. Bournemouth up next and that's not easy if looking at form keep the faith though COYS!

Never thought of Brighton as a physical side but 6 to fouls their 18 is quite a difference, especially as it resulted in 2 pens to them & us getting 2 yellows to their 3.
And although I know I watch through lilleywhite tinted glasses there seemed a hell of a lot more fouls that weren’t given against them.

No first choice CB2 and arguably not our first choice CM3, when you think it should be Romero & VdV, and Bissouma, Bentancur and Maddison.
That just shows why we were so easy to play through and so sloppy. A lot of misplaced passes put us in trouble.
However, to finish as strong as we did shows the new side of Spurs under Ange. We keep that urgency over greater periods and we’ll be fine.
I always had this year down as a transition year, but ultimately Ange’s fast start probably got us ahead of ourselves.
Make 3-4 smart moves in the January window, start to get some players back from injury, and I expect us to finish the season strongly.
As an aside, really pleased for Veliz to get his goal, that’s a positive to take. Penalty aside, Lo Celso added some tempo too.

They definitely were the better team, more clinical and less chaotic at the back. That said, it's going to be hard to win any game if you give away two daft penalties.

Yeah I guess we don’t concede them then the match ends 2-0.

We could have scored 10 but they should have been up 4-0 by half time.

We had no defence and made some stupid mistakes (Kulu and Lo celso pens)

We deserved to lose but its not a massive drama like some are making out.

A defeat like that had been coming .. we’ve been just about getting by up until now but the absentees are taking there toll.. it’s not just any old bang average squad players missing it’s basically 5 first teamers. Yet despite the disaster of a defensive showing we could have got a 4-4 out of that at the end. This is very much a free hit season with the situation we find ourselves in with the squad, we need the fans to be patient and back the boys more than ever now.. another tough game awaits Sunday.

Fully deserved, we were shit for 70+ mins. They hit the woodwork too and had many more chances.

I don't think there will ever be a time when there is a first team available. Almost nobody gets that and the trick is to have 15 or 16 guys we can rely on and that have been drilled so well that their habits are winning habits. That's what Poch achieved while he was here when we were humming and what Ange is on the road to hopefully. But he does need to clamp down on the lack of discipline that has really hindered us all season. It's a joke at this point how poor we are in certain situations and two pens today are just not possible in a team that is unwilling to give away cheap chances. I'm all in on the idea of playing a risky game that can leave one-on-ones at the back, but this kind of behaviour leading to cheap goals has to end. Along with the more blatant indiscipline of so many rash and needless cards that mean yellows and reds and suspensions.

Man City loving the last couple of rounds of fixtures without doing much.

Son has been absolutely dog shite all match
He’s at fault for the first goal. He’s at LW so when he comes back to help the defense he’s supposed to pick up their RB. He didn’t he wandered in towards the Centre so the RB had acres of space and time to take his shot. For someone with his experience, and captain that’s inexcusable.

I was hoping for a max of 4 points from the last 2 games of the year

Arsenal losing was a bonus

We beat Bournemouth on Sunday (nowhere near a Shay Given) and we are right in it with the players coming back

I thought with the injuries we have had we would be Chelsea levels now
