Son, Sarr, Emerson the negatives with nods towards Kulu and Johnson and some more. Though Emerson and Son improved on final minutes a bit.

Vic best, Davies hadn't his best game as center half, but with Emerson and midfield lacking on and off the ball, decent shift on his 2nd position. Would have been difficult for anyone under those circumstances. Veliz got his 1st and after that for first time had proper effect.

Not gonna go through every player here.

Haters gonna hate but Hojberg was superb. Upped his game, greater urgency, battling for tackles, acting as playmaker etc

Not superb, weak on 1st half. But improved on 2nd and miles better than Sarr tonight (who has been very good this season, but tonight was just plain terrible)

Think I’ll stay positive so it won’t take long…

Vicario MOTM - what a keeper, honestly brilliant in every sense. The ONLY player who looked like he turned up wanting to get a result in the first half, it legitimately could have been 5-0 at HT and he was the only reason that wasn’t the case.

Veliz - I’m so happy for him, hard transfer, coming from Argentina, not knowing the language, trying to settle into a new club and more so a new country, he’s looked up for it in all his appearances, and it’s great he’s got his first goal. Even better it wasn’t a simple tap in, and his entire cameo was promising, could have a crucial part to play in January especially with Son away. Hope he gets more minutes from here out.

A mention for Udogie who manages to show something too.

Vic and Udogie come out with credit. Good cameo from Veliz.

The way we play, we are always open to conceding goals but with the pace of our centre backs tonight and the determination to play a high line press meant that we were caught.

Don't think we learn much from this game except play with no CBs and you'll lose, which seems obvious to me, and that if you turn up knackered you'll probably lose too.

Vicario is quality.

Sidenote: I'm sorry, but Gil is not going to make it for us. That may sound harsh to dig him out as he wasn't bad or at fault, in fact we were better after he came on, but nevertheless it's the truth.

Brighton reap the rewards for a cohesive footballing strategy that pays dividends in an injury crisis. At least Ange has the ball rolling at spurs in this direction. That was the.main difference today they coped, we can't

Both sides injury ravaged. Did Brighton have a recognised full back?

Yet you wouldn't have noticed against Johnson (see player thread) or son.

Last ten mins Ange finally tried to change it with Kulu pushing more right and Veliz central..then it worked. How GLC didn't come.on at HT shall remain known only to Ange.

I cant criticise.the back line. It's held together with gaffer tape. But it does highlight the need to trust in your academy.. perhaps we are unreasonable to expect it this soon?

Levy. Take note.of how Brighton are run. As that was the difference today.

‘superb’ ?

One can rally against the vitriol he receives, but ‘superb’ is surely said in jest?

Vic 9
Porro 3
Emerson 4
Davies 5
Udogie 7.5
Hojberg 3
Sarr 4
Deki 2
Johnson 2
Richy 4
Son 1

Veliz 8
Gil 6 (he tried)
Lo Celso 5 (-1 for the penalty)

The defence, as ramshackle as they were, didn’t lose us that game. The abject display from all of the attacking players did, and it’s not the first time this season our profligacy has cost us big time. Might be the worst game I’ve seen Son have, Deki played like his boots were on the wrong feet, Richarlison was a threat but can’t time his runs and Johnson looks like a £50m Ryan Sessengnon
