Don't think we learn much from this game except play with no CBs and you'll lose, which seems obvious to me, and that if you turn up knackered you'll probably lose too.

Vicario is quality.

Sidenote: I'm sorry, but Gil is not going to make it for us. That may sound harsh to dig him out as he wasn't bad or at fault, in fact we were better after he came on, but nevertheless it's the truth.

Gil was busy today. He was an outlet, and much better outlet that Son and Kulu today. He was looking up to create, instead of the other two looking down and running into people. Plus Gil was doing his defensive duties.

The lad needs a run. Any players we sign will have the same issue.

Only Vic, Veliz and Udogie played well. GLC and Gil were probing, and Richy did alright. The rest were just not getting out today.

For me, we just had no control of the midfield until GLC came on. Sometimes you just need someone who wants the ball and to control by just keeping the ball active.

The issue that for me is PEH was neither a destroyer nor a creator, and isn't the best on the ball, bar a few moments. Too many times he was in the defensive line instead of stepping out and closing space. Bissouma is rarely in our defensive line, he is usually in front. I actually think Skipp understands the role better. It's odd because PEH for Denmark is quite a player and could do the role for us.

When GLC came on, apart from the moment of madness on the penalty, we just seemed to be busier in midfield. He was constantly moving, playing lil passes to help change direction or do 1-2s, but it allowed players to push up more. He didn't do anything spectacular, just helped keep the ball moving and picking out little pockets of space.

Vicario deserves a medal for that performance, outstanding.

Udogie played well among a train wreck of poor personal performance.

Sadly playing out from the back with Emerson, Davies and PEH was doomed to fail.

Sarr uncharacteristically ineffective, PEH although missing on occasions put in a decent effort. Kulu was frankly abysmal, the penalty dumb and the third goal lazy.

Son no leadership, no effort and poor in possession, 1st goal he was sleeping. Johnson not busy enough and Richy too many offsides and we can’t keep missing chances.

Ange, one of life’s optimists thought wed come out better in the 2nd half when he should have made changes at half time. Game gone by time he introduced GLC and while he gave away pen he showed what a footballer in the midfield can do.

injuries and suspensions hurting but no excuse for the poor efforts from Son, Kulu, Johnson and Sarr these guys are starters and were extremely poor.
