If you remove the bollocks and look at our squad, this is what you get. And its probably generous to Ndombele, Dier and Lucas. The squad really isn't in a particularly good state. Certainly not the kind of thing that will get managers excited without a serious promise of financial backing.

Proven quality
Kane
Son
Lloris

Potential quality
Romero
Reguilon
Royal
Ndombele

Good squad/starting players
Hojbjerg
Lucas

Likely youngsters
Gil
Skipp
Tanganga

Running out of chances
Bergwijn
Lo Celso
Sessegnon
Dele
Rodon
Dier

Not good enough
Davies
Sanchez
Winks
Clarke
Doherty
Good analysis. I'm sure everyone has slightly different views on which players belong in which groups, but the point remains: our squad is not attractive to a potential new manager. We have a first XI we can put out, just about, but after that it's the dregs. It's going to take years for who ever comes in to fix. So many bad buys in there. SO MANY.

For those believing the bullshit about conte being an option for us ask yourself how he would cope with Levy's long & well established history of not buying players that the manager wants. How many windows might we get through before Conte is publicly calling him out for it and then just walks away.
If he was appointed he wouldn't still be here in Feb '23 as Levy would have done the stuff he always does.
And for those thinking it might be different this time look at what happened with Traore, Daniel overruled our manager and Paratici so he will do the same again.
Tbh I feel he held off the Traore because it was Nuno who primarily wanted him, I’m sure the nature of the payment also had a large baring, but if it was a long term manager wanting a player I bet Levy would have been more inclined to pay up. That being said, it’s very clear Levy won’t have the budget for Conte, I just don’t believe for a moment he would suddenly become an option now. Aside from that, the guy is a handful and Levy and Conte sound like a match made in hell

D1 with regards to Conte
It wasn’t just that he demanded a 100 million net spend by the fourth or fifth day of negotiations we thought he was a lunatic and would be incredibly difficult to work with , there would hsve to be a humungous turn around for him to come

potter rejected us twice , Rodgers the same and gerrard once , god knows what happens this time
Daniel does not like nuno they know they made a mistake but he was always short term until Poch could escape Paris but the crowds reaction yesterday shocked the board and many of the senior players do not like nuno

I would go with Parker personally, not the big flashy name people are looking for, but has created some good teams, would manage a project and would not take any shit

They’re not comparable sadly. Lo Celso has never put together any sort of run of form in over two years now. Ndombele far from matching his price tag but has shown plenty to say there’s a heck of a player in there. In an Argentina shirt, GLC is great

Thanks for the info. I'm struggling to understand how that could be the reason as Paratici knows him well so there shouldn't be any surprises on him being a lunatic.

Time for Conte was in the summer. Don't see what's changed now that is going to make Levy want to spend millions and don't see why Conte would take the gig when the United job is definitely going to be available by the end of the season (and more likely by the end of this month)

Sorry if you've already been answered.

Though it's hard to believe Levy is willing to pay what it would cost to appease Conte (though he was happy to pay Mourinho huge) maybe the point somebody made yesterday is correct.

The fact that it appears supporters will be in regular attendance, thus guaranteeing decent regular income, is what's different now?

Would be such an exciting appointment, in my opinion.

I've no idea who we can bring in but wedo need an attacking anager who can get us going stright off thw bat i the same way Redknapp did. We had a pretty poor squad with no balance but that didn’t stop him coming in and getting us to beat Liverpool I believe it was first match and ramping up the table. If players like you and believe in what your selling then they'll run through walls for you. We havent seen that in a very long while. At that time I thought Redknapp was a great choice. He had already won the FA Cup as well. I'm not sure who could have the same effect now.

Conte will get us playing proper football again, that's what we so badly need. Our players are so poorly coached for so long our good players are becoming bad.

The only way we’d be able to attract Conte is if Levy has realised he needs to, and is willing to, spend £200m on 3-4 players in the next 9 months. Plus make Conte the highest paid manager in world football. Seeing as we already deferred Romero’s signing until next summer (loan initiallly), I’m not sure Levy will be willing to loosen the purse strings that much.
