The entire problem is tempo vs. risk. We play way too slowly and safely. Unless we make more risky passes through midfield to get at their defense quickly - before they get into shape! - we won't score.

As much as I want to be positive we all know how this works we are playing a team whose manager is under threat for his job so as usual Tottenham will come in and save the day. Man United are probably going to get a very convincing win today that will keep the haters off Ole's back.

I'll skip this one. There absolutely no chance we get anything out of this game. Gonna take the boy out to the park instead.

3-0 Utd

Mrs is out and I'm tempted to splurge on a now tv pass for the game.

At the same time I have a nagging feeling watching nuno ball as we inevitably play rubbish against OK sides will leave me feeling sad.

...now tv pass or not now tv pass. Ti's the question

This could well be the calmest match thread we've had in a very long time. People have, by and large, resigned themselves to defeat and loads of people aren't even going to bother watching it.

All that's left is the moan fetishists cut and pasting

mMaybe we should lock this, copy the posts from the last thread over and all go and have a beano. It's nailed on nobody would be able to tell the difference :playful:

Sold both our tickets easily as can’t be arsed to go (can’t remember feeling like this ever), but knowing my luck we will hammer them 4-0 and the stadium will be rocking. COYS

Both teams are packed with talented players that have failed to gel as a team, resulting in extreme inconsistency. Predictions are a fool's game anyway, but this match is even less predictable than most, because individual performances could overcome their dysfunctional teams, in either direction.

United's defence is a mess and is erratically protected by their midfield, but they have a goalkeeper who can stop anything on his day. Spurs' defence is generally solid, but cannot seem to rid itself of its tendency to concede sloppy goals.

United have brilliant attacking players, but their midfield can't press effectively and the attackers need to do too much work. Spurs have equally brilliant attacking players, but the ball moves so slowly through midfield and the movement up front is often so uncoordinated that they rarely get a chance to shoot - and then they hesitate when that chance comes.

I've rarely seen two teams with so much talent playing so badly. Anything could happen.
