Yeah and in three years with "serious attitude problem" he went from 2nd tier to 60m signing as he became one of the best midfielders in Europe.
If anything this proves he is more talented, he can be 15kg overweight and is still fantastic.
I'm sorry but he wasn't one of the best midfielders in Europe. Yes he was a very good player but he was a player with a very high ceiling with a good few clubs chasing him. To be one of the best midfielders in Europe, you have to prove yourself over an extended period of time.

He went from the 2nd tier to Lyon after a successful loan. We actually looked at Ndombele the Summer before we signed him when we could have got him for £15m. We had doubts however and decided against it. He then had a great season and we bit the bullet. No one can disagree that it was a huge mistake on our part to sign him.

He is an incredibly talented player, no one can debate that. But under Paratici and Nuno, we're trying to build an exciting team with players who WANT to play for us. Unfortunately, we can no longer afford to carry Ndombele and so it's time we move him on. I think the only chance we have of selling is a loan with an option and due to his desire to leave, he actually puts the required effort in for a season and gets his move.

It's incredibly frustrating that it hasn't worked out but this is why the personality of a player is key and you will see that our signings this window will all be hungry players with a desire to succeed.

someone his talent should be one of the first on the team sheet unfortunately he doesn’t have the application to stay fit.
Like mentioned above he has had the whole summer off and he’s had a baby. So do most footballers at some point in their career. He should still be fit.
Everyone wants him to get fit and show what a player he can consistently he’s now got his 4th manager and not been able to play consistently for the previous 3.
I can’t see with the state of finances abroad anyone paying what we would want
He’s on his fourth manager entering his third season in what was a new country. Clearly there have been and maybe are issues, but he has himself in the team under Poch, and played a huge amount of minutes for a Mourinho last season. People are super quick to want to jump on his fitness and want him gone.

It still baffles me how some refuse to put any responsibility on Tanguy's shoulders. He's a footballing professional, he's had the whole summer off and was gone for less than a week when he visited his partner. There's absolutely no reason as to why he shouldn't be fit right now. To me, it's quite clear that he's lazing about and not willing to put in the required shift, just like he has for his whole career at Guingamp, Lyon, and Amiens before us.

We should sell before his value plummets even further.
Broadly, I agree; he must take responsibility. In regards to this, I wonder whether the club are using a sports psychologist to work with him as well as considering who will mentor him if Sissoko & Aurier leave. Is his partner with him in London? If not, this could be another factor affecting him.

I don’t want him gone I’d love him to succeed as I think he’s the only midfielder we have who can accept the ball of the cbs and comfortably turn and beat a press. He can beat opponents so easily but he doesn’t have the desire and dedication it seems. I can’t see how he fits in our team even though based on talent he should easily be the best midfielder we have. (Reminds me of a poorer pogba. Has the talent to be the best midfielder every game but rarely is)

Gotta try to sell him abroad. Couldn't face watching him walk past Hojbjerg repeatedly twice a season, although he wouldn't be the first.

Have to be a loan at best. If overseas clubs are skint im not sure they're going to be spending money on Ndombele.

He will be an absolute star somewhere.

Certainly the most naturally talented player in our squad.

While he has to take some of the blame on to his own shoulders - I wonder how different it could have been if he had joined when the club was going in a different direction...

If we had the funds I’d say time to replace them both. Neither seems to have adapted to the premier league very well or our team setup. Either way we will probably need more dominant midfielders soonish… just my opinion.

I'd say Gio had more good performances for us than Tanguy. Mainly in the 2nd half of the season 19/20 though.

He played well in 3/4 games. People forget some of the performances Tanguy put in last season tbh. Go back and watch city at home for instance. GLC has done very very little.

Does he want to play football or not, whether its here or abroad. If its not here, then put in a transfer request. I would be more than happy to see hm start this season. JM plays him all wrong, too deep. He needs be further up the pitch where he can do real damage with his passing and link play. He could play Allis role.

He has been a disaster of a signing unfortunately. All the talent in the world but if you don't have the right attitude then that counts for very little.

Hojbjerg would snap him in the first 5 minutes and you wouldn't see Tanguy in the game again. Genuinely.

I remember Chelsea away, he got hit 2-3 times in the first 10 minutes and he disappeared completely. No interest. No mental strength or determination. The Wolves game where Neto went past Winks and Tanguy literally could not be bothered to chase him. Its on camera. There's no excuse.

I'd much rather see Hojbjerg who gives his all every game, never misses a game, has played all the Euros and got straight back to Spurs and knuckled down. He may not be as gifted as Tanguy but give me him any day over this guy who still can't get fit.

To succeed in football you need ability, fitness and a good attitude. Tangay has ability in abundance but lacks the other two. We could wait forever for him to acquire them or cash in while it’s possible. We should do the latter and strengthen the team elsewhere.

He's a loafer...stealing a living. Lazy git. Nothing more to it. People are coming up with so many excuses for an oxygen thief. We got sold a lemon. He has the talent undoubtedly but is too lazy to apply himself in the premier league which is a step up from the French league...

Gosh and people rated him above Youri Tielemans who came at a 1/3 of his price.....I'll never forgive Poch for that. He reminds me so much of Adel Taarabt and Kevin Prince Boateng.

I specifically said I'm not trying find an excuse for the player, yet this is your reply. ?‍♂️

With the vast majority of European clubs being skint, who outside the EPL is going to buy him? No one.

If he's not fit then why hasn't he been involved in the friendlies to help get fit? Seems to me its a lot more to do with attitude. Nuno is now our 3rd coach who's initial impression of Tanguy hasn't been favourable. Surely his attitude cant be THAT bad can it??
