He was offered to us. We didn't even consider it.

Thank fuck. Its like Ibrahimović all over again, he may get goals but at the detriment of Uniteds game plan. He is a cover up to the failure to get Sancho. Their number 10 is supposed to be Martial.

They need at least 2 decent CB's and an LB. They have Rashford, Greenwood and Ighalo who are strikers. Maybe none have the physical presence of Cavani but spending the money on him and either Dembele or Sancho rather than going for defense is shocking, IMO.

I know all the shit De Gea has gotten and probably much of it is deserved but if you put Henderson behind that defense and expect better you are an idiot. You could put fucking Neuer behind that back line and it wouldnt be much better. They could easily upgrade at LB and both CB positions. Wan Bissaka needs time as he could be a top RB, IMO. He was a good piece of business from them. £90m on Maguire was...decidedly not.
For some reason they aren't willing to play Rashford up front and prefer Martial

All summer they have chased Sancho who is a RW and that's been filled by Greenwood but they don't have an out and out no.9

I would rank a proper out and out striker more than a RW

Of course I think they need a CB and LB, I think Maguire next a decent cb would help him alot and I think they need a proper DM as well

While I think Manchester Utd should really be aiming higher than Cavani, I’m not going to laugh my head off just yet. If he avoids injuries, his fitness levels are ridiculous and he’s still physically spot on for this league despite his age, an absolute dynamo. I don’t see him being a top goalscorer but I do see him providing Utd’s other forwards with a platform to score a lot of goals. He is one of the hardest working forwards around and will do a lot of grunt work for them. It does make me wonder why they didn’t look at what we did with Vinicius though, seems like they’ve fallen back into the trap of buying names over needs.

This has panic buy (or bottom of the barrel) written all over it. Cavani's been a free agent for 3 months, if he was actually a target at the start of the window they would've snapped him up and had him training/playing. He's also a big name which Woodward will think is a coup and he'll hope that it'll appease the fans (it hasn't).

No doubt Solskjaer will come out and say he's exactly what they've been looking for.

I view the Cavani transfer as a nice bonus, if you've had a good window it's great, he's a big player and a great option. However if you haven't addressed all your major issues it is not the signing you want your board to be investing time in.

This particularly comes across as a move for the sake of it, to try and appease fans. Woodward has had a shocker again.

Didn't get Sancho, wouldn't say it was the biggest area they needed to focus on but understand he is a star and securing him would have been huge.

No LB or CB is massive, they really needed to improve their defence and haven't. They may still bring in players but a club of that size and budget should not be bringing players in so late, they should have been in ready for the season to start.

Sky Sports: Angers full-back Rayan Ait-Nouri is having a medical ahead of a move to Wolves. The clubs have agreed a season-long loan with an option to buy for around £20m. Ait-Nouri is a France U21 international.

IIRC Rashford has said he prefers playing down the left than central, I might be wrongbut I’m sure I read it a little while ago

Who has Levy sold with hardly a league game to his name for such a price?

Pritch maybe? Wimmer had done well before, Caulker maybe years ago. Few and far between I'd say.

More recently Onomah maybe, but no where near Liverpool prices.

Germany's like "ja, you take all our expensive players und we will take your youths. You can have zem back at 10 times das price later"

I read this in the voice of Taika Waititi as Hitler in ‘Jojo Rabbit’
