Trouble is, a lot of clubs probably wouldn't want to risk the wages, signing on fee as well as lay out a large fee, under current circumstances.

I think if it was a normal window, yeah someone probably would have picked up him for a fee.

St Etienne have now made what? Near £80m from PL clubs for a pair of 19 year olds with one bedding in season under them. Not even as first choice, just an Onomah type season each

Southampton are close to signing midfielder Ibrahima Diallo from Stade Brestois after agreeing a £12m fee with the French club. Sky Sports News believe Diallo will undergo a medical in Southampton within the next 24 hours.

Probably not unrelated to our move Vincius. Just as we sometimes have to wait for bigger/richer clubs to make their minds up on targets we want, there much be a shit load of clubs below us in the pecking order waiting for Levy to make his mind up on who he going to sign.

Weird Leicester haven’t looked to bring in a specialist left footed full back since Chillwell left although they do have a very promising youth player named Luke a Thomas so maybe they’ll ease him in.

Also odd no ones seems to even try and by Wilfred Zaha anymore!

Lots of young Ligue 1 talents going to the prem. Wesley Fofana - 19 yo ASSE CB (better than saint-etienne teammate saliba btw) to Leicester. Ibrahima Diallo - 21 yo Brest DM/B2B midfielder to Southampton. Apparently Rayan Ait-Nouri - 19 yo Angers LB to Wolves. A lot of young under the radar talent (fofana less so) from France joining the prem. All great players. Ait-nouri is someone I am really high on, I think united were linked earlier in the window.

23.5M for Rhian Brewster. I know he’s a hot prospect but that is ridiculous money for a youth who doesn’t have a single league start. The last decisive action he had for Liverpool was missing his penalty in the community shield

I genuinely don’t know how Liverpool do it.

Make lower clubs pay well over the odds for their youth talent AND make them include a buyback just in case they actually do come good. Did the same with Solanke and Ibe.

Buying club lays out the money and takes all the risk. Unreal.

It’s not that surprising that Bournemouth went down after making those deals. Sheffield United should take warning from that.
