SSN are notorious for saying things to get views and clicks, especially going into the last week ready for deadline day. Take no notice. They claimed Palace was doing something which Simon Jordan called them out on.

"Tottenham are still in talks with Inter Milan to sign Milan Skriniar but that deal is looking unlikely."

That is the extent of what is said on SSN. It's one sentence. No need to add or remove any meaning from it. Any aggregators vomiting out a bunch of other meaning or words from it are just filling in the character count with their imagination.

To be fair they’re quoting one of the blokes from the transfer show who did say more than that, not just the text you’re reading along the ticker.

Sky Sports News reporter Kaveh Solhekol:

“At the moment, that one (deal for Milan Skriniar) looks like it could be in doubt. Sky in Italy have told us there have been talks between Spurs and Inter, the problem is, Inter want €60m, Spurs are only offering about €30m and they have not made a formal bid.

“Spurs have lots of other options when it comes to signing centre backs in the next few days, players available on loan, lots of clubs willing to sell their players.

“With seven days to go (until the window closes), Jose Mourinho has already signed four players, but he wants a centre back and he wants a backup striker as well.”

For what it's worth Kaveh is possibly the bottom of the Sky Sports transfer tier.

Skriniar looking very good?

Most of the Italian media has been going on about an official bid early this week so I imagine if things are starting to get close we'll find out about it in the next 48 hours or so.

Would be nice to have some reliable sources indicating the above by Wednesday or so, leaving the final few days solely focused on getting a striker in.

Sky are laughable honestly. That news was posted by Sky Italy on Friday, and they’re sharing it today as if it adds some sort of negative spin to the deal.

Looks like him saying "could be in doubt" is opinion based on everything fabrizio has tweeted the past few days
