Inter working on potential Skriniar-Ndombele’ swap with Spurs

Inter are working on bringing in a phsycal midfielder to bolster Conte's squad. The nerazzurri are in talks with Tottenham, they are offering Milan Skriniar to land Tanguy Ndombele, a player they've been interested in dating back to his time at Lyon.

There are a however a few hurdles, Spurs are having a hard time meeting Skriniar's demands for his salary and their chairman Daniel Levy views moving on from Ndombele' after investing so much in him just a year ago as risky and an admission of failure. Inter and Tottenham developed a good relationship during the Eriksen negotiation, will they get another deal across the finish line?

Ironic if he ends up as backup to Eriksen.

Obviously there's approximately zero chance of this happening. Swap deals are to football as FOV sliders are to console videogames.

Conte often wants a different CB in his back 3 to play well in a high defensive line - which Skriniar has struggled sometimes. But Skriniar is good aerially , man mark opponents well and a better defender overall in a back4 - which should suit Mourinho.
It is not a bad trade off to get Skriniar for Ndombele. IMO, we would be getting a CB in his prime. With him, our backline should do well over a 4-5 year period.

Dier, toby, sanchez, kim min jae, tanganga - isn't it more than enough for cb??

Skriniar links could scupper KMJ signing. But, Its Inter who is pushing Skriniar to us - who knows we may be against him given the imbalance it will create. Its going to be a fascinating swap - if it happens.

Visa versa is more likely. Eriksen was a strange signing to begin with and it hasn't really worked out yet.

With COVID finance almost assured we will see more swaps than usual. Allows teams to set prices funny and solve accounting problems. Doesn’t mean this is on, but not as LOL as a normal year.

We could decide Tanguy is worth 80M and Skirinar worth 70M and 10M of cash. We’d book a 35M accounting gain to cover some COVID losses. That amortization on skirinar would happen in post Covid years.

what I don’t know is whethee skirinar is good. Fazio was decent in Italy.

I hope we call lazio and told him whether they are willing to swap SMS with Ndombele ... Skriniar links doesn't sense when we have dier, toby, sanchez - 3 right footed center backs at the club ...

Skriniar often plays on the left side.
We can say we have 3 or 4 CBs...but if a superior CB is available, can we say no ? For me, Skriniar is better than Sanchez or Dier and I believe he has equal or higher ceiling than Toby from a potential point of view

If we have all 4 of sanchez, dier, toby and skriniar, then I think we wont sign kim min jae ? Also then we still need another midfielder to replace ndombele.. how will we got that money if we get Skriniar for Ndombele? I think we will sacrifice sanchez then, have to buy another box to box dm with sanchez money... Too many task to do in one window ...

The most logical swap for ndombele is either swap him with coutinho or swap him with SMS ... Ndombele for another CB will create imbalance in the squad again ...

It won't happen, but a straight swap is a great move for all parties. We get an elite cb that was valued at well above 60 million by inter a year ago, and they get a McDonald's merchant who'll fit in well in the slow paced Italian league.

How do you balance the book by not signing another midfielder and stuck with 4 cbs ?

I’ve never seen this fella play, but swapping him for our most expensive signing who is an exciting looking talent (albeit he hasn’t got anywhere near fulfilling that potential with us so far) totally underwhelms me.

Why would Ndombele want to go to Lazio big step down

Really good CB but technically quite limited when on the ball. Would work really well under Jose but our next manager might struggle with him as Conte is.
Struggles in a high line and makes Dier look like Sanchez pace-wise.

If this did happen, I would hope we manage to get in another no.8!
