He's done well but his last 3 years there was without any major trophies and in his last season there they were in relegation spot in middle of the season. It's not a *rise*.
For Mourinho their fans are now realising that their 2nd place finish was very good with this defence
He won the premier league the other day. That’s pushing on a bit I’d say. Do you think Mourinho will ever win it again?

but precovid it would look like this

Ndombele 40m
Precovid market and one of the best young midfielder in the world wanted by many clubs would be worth 40m when year earlier he was bought for 60+10m? Ok...

btw I think it would be silly to sell most of those players. The rot goes much deeper than individuals and most of those players genuinely are good enough and most of them would go to top sides.

but precovid it would look like this

Ndombele 40m
Lucas 20m
Sissoko 10m
Aurier 10m

Sure I've missed one out but I actually think these are possibly lower than what they would actually go. I mean we sold Tripps for 20m, and we sold Janssen for 6m and aging crocked Dembele went for 15m. The market was crazy. Post covid, who knows.
Precovid, are we now quoting turning back time?

And combined, that lot would buy you one good player at best. Deluded.

Mourinho is going to be the death of our club.

Virtually a fully-fit squad, 3 months of dedicated prep and this is what we get:

- Can't pass
- Can't defend
- Can't create a goal
- Can't take a corner
- Can't take a free kick
- Can't make a right sub (When our players are knackered, he makes 2 out of 5 possible subs. When we're 2-nil down when 10 ins to go and he brings on a CB.)

People said "He needs a pre-season". Well, he's had one and we're still completely outplayed when Sheffield United. He doesn't even look like he gives a shit.

We're stretching Kane's loyalty too far, there's no way he'll put up with this shit. I was willing to give him a chance but we need to cut our losses before we lose Kane and then we're truly fucked.
Kane has to leave the man will win nothing at spurs.

Even if they backed Jose, I don't have the confidence that he would bring in the right players for us. I think our biggest mistake was not paying up for Bruno Fernandes. He would have transformed our team. And look what it's cost us by not paying up.
Mourinho would waste him. Kane has the ball in the net 4 times tonight. Once it counted due to various circumstances. Truth is he’s still class but he’s not getting the service which fulfils his abilities.

Right manager or wrong manager the players are the biggest issue.

Mourinho might not be the one to rebuild but this team is lacking in quality. There are a lot of mid table players in the squad.
Careful there fella. We sacked the last guy who said that.

It's pure Jose spin. He came in saying the squad was good enough. Now (8 months later) the line is 'now i know my players have a shit mentality'. It's nothing more or less than Jose attempting to shift the blame and manage the narrative. The narrative is all he seems interested in managing these days tbh.
Firstly, this was a VAR criticism first and foremost. It's him saying that these VAR decisions are very hard for players to take. Considering how hard it is for me to take, even say West Ham's the other night and I have little stake in the fortunes of West Ham. I think these decisions have a massive impact in player mentality. I imagine it really hurts your focus. He is criticising the VAR system here, indirectly.

Now, that's one thing. Now he isn't saying the players have a shit mentality, he is saying we need to learn to not be like this. In fact he is sympathetic to the players 'I know it’s difficult to take' but 'We have to be mentally stronger' not 'we had to be mentally stronger'. 'we cannot mentally die'. These are statements in the present tense, it's as focused as the next time it happens then just today.

The smart thing would be for Jose to ask for Ndombele and Lucas to be moved on to free up funds but I highly doubt he'll ask for Lucas to be removed.

I can see him asking for Ndombele to be moved on if we don't see much of an improvement from now til August. Because ultimately he will realise he needs more players and Levy won't give him the money.

And his bank account, his Adidas and betting company endorsements. Football is a secondary focus for him now.

Absolutely, and these are quite good and useful players. We need a more balanced team not sell off players who might not be world class but are actually very useful.

We can't turn back time, but the market will still be relatively balanced. And we could pick up good value in more vulnerable European teams.

Back him or sack him. He's not a manager who can work miracles on a low budget, at least not anymore. Therefore, if we don't give him money to spend we're wasting his time, the players' time, and our time.

We have no money for either lol

This proven winner lark is absolute horse shit isnt it? Mourinho is one of the most proven winners going. But all the winning he did was in the past and football stands still for nobody. We need a cohesive system from top to bottom. A manager with ideas and philosophy to build from, a scouting department with a director of football whos ideas match the managers and a chairman whos willing to invest to let that all become a reality. The fractured structure we have at the moment will doom all who take the reigns.

He wasn't necessarily wrong but undoubtedly he had reached the end of the road with us and TBF, for all those who want him back - what has changed since then to suggest that it wouldn't all go wrong again? If anything there would be less backing now.

The issue with that is the team was put together with him in charge. Along with people higher up.

I'm sorry Poch is gone but some of the games during his last 12-18 months make this performance look like 1970 Brazil (obvious exaggeration is obvious).

Every manager would struggle coming in middle of the season. Guardiola needed time, Klopp in his first 20PL games had 9W 5D 6L.. Same as Mourinho, he can still win the league.

Sheffield United got fucked by VAR at the Lane and fought for a result. I’m sick of our lot moaning and capitulating because of VAR. If that’s what separates us from the likes of the Blades them fair fucking play to them. Fully deserved victory today.

It needs decisive leadership from Levy, a plan. Is he gonna back Jose? Maybe we have to sell Kane and rebuild entirely? I dunno really. I do know that Jose was never the answer for us.

I don’t think he will be here after next season.

There’s such a thing as ‘new manager bounce’. Mourinho won’t win the league unless someone buys it for him. That won’t be Levy.
