Just think of some of the greats of this modern era he has had play for him under that philosophy and what those players and him won both personally and as a club ... Boy, we can only dream, can't we?

Different era. In fact I think he’s got more pragmatic the older he has got and unfortunately we’re getting the blunt end of it.

Still winning though, wasn't he? End of the last era? Three years ago? ...Ok.

Erm.....just on this. He is getting off lightly because he has the 3rd most points in the league since he joined. That means that 17 other managers should be slammed by the press yeah?

Are you sure your stats are up to date there chief? Because I'm pretty sure the mighty Southampton have taken more points than us in that period as of yesterday. I think Utd will also have taken more if they win today, and their manager is a garden gnome.

Of course he's going to play pragmatic football when his squad is not his own, blighted by injuries, in dire need of being refreshed, and he has been given a very clear target of getting top 4 this season after the poor start under Poch

I don’t want him out, just hugely disappointed in what he’s said and done since the Son injury news.

I hope he’s more proactive tactically, and realises that Skipp, Sessegnon and whoever the best left sided defensive prospect is coming through all need to be rotated in in the next couple of games, just wearing down Moura and Stevie and Davies is self defeating.

if Lamela can keep going for the next month that should help.

I think Jose should be given time and that includes next season but if the fan or media pressure builds up too much or he blows up then it could end a lot shorter.
The club has to try it stick with it seeing as we can't keep chopping and changing become it sets us back further every time making the club look like mugs.

He pretty much had a blank cheque book at Man U and still fell out with the players and fans because the football was dire. The problem is his philosophy has become so attritional that once the results dry up its easy to turn on him because there is absolutely no pleasure in watching the team.

I wish him all the best for the clubs sake but the journey will be painful imo.

The problem is that Jose will want a lot of money in the summer for a rebuild and in all likelihood we’ll lose the CL revenue and we don’t really have too many assets to sell that will generate big funds. I don’t really see it happening next summer.

Well this is one of those decisions that only levy can decide become as you say it's unlikely we will be playing CL and without it the job of recruiting becomes more difficult.

I vastly value performance and entertainment over trophies and the dream is that you obtain both however isn't it unfair to expect Jose to be producing entertaining football this early in let-alone with the circumstances we've now had put on us losing our best two players. I could maybe understand people being irritated if he had inherited an entertaining team and had removed that element but he hasn't done that, we weren't playing good football.

If we're playing poor football this time next year then I'll be as disappointed as anybody but I can't understand why people can't see that the time to be critical of that aspect isn't now.
I accept that's your opinion and every opinion is valid but equally some people believe that trophies are the logical end result of being involved in competitive sport. I don't want us to be the 'nearly man' of football forever, being damned with faint praise because we play great football.

It goes against conventional wisdom to have a big turnover of players in one transfer window- but that's exactly what we need this summer. Been said before that this squad is stale. We need:
- more athletic players
- defenders who are comfortable on the ball and happy to dribble out with it (we have nobody who can do it now)
- 1 x-factor attacker who instills fear into the opposition when running at them.

Historically we've prided ourselves on our scouting, but we've been poor in recent years. We need to be better.

I'm backing Mourinho 100%.

Not being in the CL will be the excuse trotted out this summer, that's for sure. Yes it will have an impact on our finances but other clubs manage to sign decent players outside of CL qualification. We just need to get our scouting right and be decisive in the market. Is that going to happen? I won't hold my breath.

And the question is, do we give a shed full of money to invest in his type of players, safe in the knowledge that he probably won't be around for long, and whoever succeeds him will probably have a much more modern approach to the game.

Southampton no, same number of points, worse goal difference, Utd yes if they win today.

So to ask the question again, should the 16 or 17 managers below that be slammed by the press?

Just wondering If there has been any such case before where club has hired hugely expensive manager just to undemine that manager on first window as badly as Daniel did. Ever? Anywhere?

I dont see the correlation between having some injuries and resorting to parking the bus and aimless long balls.

Pragmatism isn't being being negative, it's doing what you must.. I don't think we need to park the bus every game, I am seeing negativity not pragmatism.

Our squad was refreshed to the tune of 5 new players and tanganga over the course of the last 6 months.

We have enough quality players even with some injuries to try and play football against the likes of Southampton. We are just wallowing in Jose's tales of self pity.

This is where we need a sporting director now

To answer your question, I don’t give a shit about anyone else other than Spurs.
