Totally agree. I wasn’t a fan of appointing him and I have big questions about him.

But you don’t hire a CL winning manager and not give him some time and resources.

In hindsight, Poch’s biggest failing was the transfer market. While others have bought well fairly inexpensively, we’ve bought very badly and there are massive gaps in the squad now, most notably in defensive positions - the part of the team Jose has historically built his teams around.

Give him the chance (ie resources) to create a solid base and see if he can build a team around it.

My concern though is the number of other good sides now. The Prem is brutal now
We can get back amongst it again providing the investment is there but levy isn't a fan of it, I'm not holding my breath that he is fully backed although I hope he is of course.

We spent £100m in the summer, we have to spend another £30m+ to make Lo Celso permanent. Is there much money to spend?

We apparently had the money for Dybala and/or Fernandez so I'd assume there's some knocking about.

He needs 4/5 player's to improve the squad in addition to what you have just posted will he get that funding I highly doubt it unless someone like Kane is sold.

Yeah I know what he needs. That doesn't mean he'll get it, whether that's "Levy tight" or just not enough money to hand, I don't know. We're not Man City.

City has nothing to do with it mate as a club we generate a decent turnover but levy doesn't like to push the boat out a bit so we are always struggling when it counts.

Christ. I am glad you aren't the manager. So much wrong in one post.

Edit: Sorry that was regarding the long load of bollocks above.

I'm pretty sure that Mourinho has been around the premier League long enough to be aware of the way that DL operates and I find it hard to imagine that DL bullshitted him on the type of financial backing that he can expect.

Mourinho is not under the same level of pressure that he was under at Chelsea, Man U, Real or Inter. I know that a lot of people are expecting Dr Jekyll to morph into Mr Hyde at any moment but I do wish that people would give him a break. I'll be honest that I was surprised that he got the job and I was in the "his best days are behind him" camp but he's the manager now and assuming that DL will certainly not countenance sacking him unless things turn really bad then he'll be here for a couple of seasons and that's a long time to stew over him being our manager.

Still surprised people are blaming Jose for this. Poch left us in this mess.

- no win away since January 2019
- summer signings not integrated fully into the team
- loss the dressing room
- almost the worst league form in the league during 2019.

We’re not good but we’ve improved since Jose turned up and that’s without any real time to coach the players due to so many games.

Levy left us in this mess for not fixing/sorting out the squad. Only so much a manager can do both Poch and Mourinho.

I cannot believe Mourinho joined Spurs just to do the best he can with the current squad and the youngsters. He will have discussed with Levy what backing in the Transfer Market he will have and it will have been significant or he wouldn’t have joined. I assume he and Levy are playing down transfer deals to keep everyone’s expectations in check particularly selling clubs and Spurs supporters.

Apparently had the money. Been in that position with most transfer windows, but it’s no coincidence that there’s never the net investment in players that seems to be needed. Starved of any investment in 3 windows is the biggest reason for our problems since January. Two very good coaches in Poch and JM, have and are struggling with this squad of players.

The promising thing for me is that Jose is identifying our issues, whereas Poch in his last few months didn’t really seem to know what the issues were.

The attack is performing a lot better, just need the right midfield mix and the defence improved and we will be nearly there. (Do not much to do ha!)

One thing that’s been underrated is how much of a tune Jose is getting out of Eriksen.

Let’s not forget, eriksen was absolutely fucking terrible for the last year of Poch’s reign. He’d completely checked out and was a shadow of his former self. Clearly one of the players Poch had lost in the dressing room. Since Jose has come in Eriksen is actually looking close to back to his best, he’s creating chances and actually scored a free kick!

We have close to 100k people on the season ticket waiting list and play in the best stadium in the world, selling out every week with excess demand. We don't need transfer rumours to sell tickets

We do when we are playing Europa league with on average the dearest ST prices in world football (maybe even sport)
