Need some good news on this today, this guy is what we need. Dybala would be a luxury.
GLC is a necessity.
GLC is a necessity.
He isn't ITK with most things but seems to be quite close to parties dealing in area of Seville. Decent guy spoke to him a few times and has no reasons to lie
I’m not worried about this. For all we know, Poch could’ve told Levy “it’s Lo Celso, or it’s nobody” similar to last year when Levy was unable to get De Jong and Ndombele for various reasons.
If that is the case and GLC is the only player Poch wants, it definitely makes sense to wait and save money. Betis need to sell and GLC would’ve missed most of pre season regardless so waiting would make no difference.
For the record, I’m getting pretty tired of reading the Levy hate on this forum. It honestly makes no sense to call Levy tight when the man above him, Joe Lewis, a multi billionaire, is giving us nothing.
Considering the first news of this transfer broke on BBC and the figure was 50 million + (can't remember if that was pounds or euros) then I wonder where Gaffney is getting those figures from.

I may be screwing the mathematics up, but it looks like from the first talks of a deal being in place earlier in the month to now the fallout of the government instability and the catastrophic pound vs euro, it looks like currency fluctuations have made the 45m offer half a million quid more. That’s insane. It must be driving Levy up the wall. It also means that their higher asking price is a full million pounds more than it was a month ago in real terms. I know I look at it like a guy with no money, but I’d be looking to the pound and praying we’ll see some stability before having to make a first payment...
I was just thinking that currency is constantly subject to fluctuation so is it that important how the pound is performing now, given that any fee will be staggered anyway?THFC will have plenty of Euros in their coffers. We won't just have £ hidden under the bed.
Got a feeling in my waters about today.

Betis bought Lo Celso on last weeks of last season for 22mEURIf Gaffney's info is true then £37 million is a very low ball offer for GLC.
If I'm not mistaken Joe Lewis made a lot of money from FX. If that's the case the club will no doubt hold money in a a lot of different currencies. Also if the Tripper fee was paid in Euro's we will be gaining on that. It's a good point. Saying that, presumably Levy never pays all up front on a large fee so that risk always remains throughout the process of paying the instalments? Or doesn't it? I'm confused!
He'd already played a season on loan at Betis. The reason his fee was low from PSG was because it was an option to buy agreed the season before he went on loan to Betis.Betis bought Lo Celso on last weeks of last season for 22mEUR
Without him playing a single game , they are asking 80m EUR
If we offered 37m£ (40mEUR)...now how is that a low ball offer ???
Every report says we are the only team for him & player wants to sign for us.
I know we want the player to sign asap...but doesnt mean we have to give nearly 4 times the price he was bought in May 2019.
Me too.Got a feeling in my waters about today.
"I am not in charge, I know nothing about the situation of my players. I am only coaching them, trying to get the best from them."
Despite everyone criticising some fans for worrying over our lack of transfers, the plain facts are that Pochettino is clearly frustrated at present as per his comment above. He asked us to act like a big club over the Summer which I don't think we have. I think it's clear he wanted a few players in early so they were involved in pre season and aprt from N'Dombele, it hasn't happened. Personally, what frustrates me the most is that we are so close to being top contenders and we only need 2 quality players. The foundations are already there. Now I'm not saying go and spend £300 million, but surely £100 million on 2 further quality players is too much? Record profits, record kit deal and the stadium is now finished. Plus we've also got Trippier, Vorm, Llorente & Janssen off the wage bill. If we can't spend now then we never will.

3rd post in and he's gone with the big bold text early out the gate.
