The reminder of the importance of having a strong academy and promoting academy players into depth positions:

Llorente/Janssen (135k/week combined) —> Parrott (5-10k/week)
Wanyama (65k/week) —> Skipp (5-10k/week)
Aurier (70k/week) —> KWP (20k/week)

Plus Janssen, Aurier, and Wanyama’s potential transfer fees and the opportunity cost of not having to make speculative depth signings like N’Koudou, N’Jie, Wimmer, etc. Also, the money we’re going to make on players like Onomah, Edwards, CCV, etc.

Keeping our wage bill under control with academy players is how we’re going to be able to continue offering wages like NDombele (200k), Eriksen (200k), Lo Celso (150k).

Not sure how that relates to my post. But you are correct, he also never hit many first time passes

Not sure now either but it was relative to Dembele and NDombele. Ndombele just goes for the final ball more I think not just today,Dembele was great in working the ball but most passes were lay offs

First bit of brilliance from Kane for months, great to see the confidence to take such a strike... hope we see the Kane of 2 seasons ago next season... hat tricks galore, goals from here there and everywhere :D

Was any reason given why we didn’t see Eriksen?

Lots of great things to take from the game. Skipp was excellent for 90 mins. And Parrot...OMG he’s looks special.

Great victory. Was just about to say that Kane, again, looks much less comfortable playing in a two up front then he does that.

Really enjoyable game. Parrott did decent in the first half and skipp was fantastic. Great to see NDombele have an instant impact too.

One of the best pre season games I've watched in a long time
I just say that was some respectful game from Poch and the lads. Second half Juve picked up where they left off in the first half and gave us some scares. But Kane is king tonight in Singapore.

Second half was nowhere near as good as the first. Some of the more senior players seemed to be easing their way back into it, and that's being generous. Until that goal Kane didn't look sharp at all, Sissoko a little off the pace, Ndombele did well for the second goal to pick Moura out, but, awkward running style/gait aside, looks nowhere near fit enough yet, and Vertonghen looked all over the place.

Main thing that needs to be taken from it though is Poch.... please stop playing the fucking diamond. Straight away started causing issues.

Overall an entertaining pre-season work out, and a nice way to win it at the death. As a collective they look quite sharp, the first half in particular had lots of encouraging signs, and none of the youngsters disgraced themselves and several can be pleased with their outing. On to the next one.......
