Really can’t see Sessegnon leaving in Jan.
Knowing our transfer policy, (money in means money can go out), would you all prefer if Llorente were sold for maybe 4 or 5 mil in January to Bilbao who are currently in the relegation zone, or keep him and let him go for free in the summer? Can't imagine we would be able to replace him in January.
Where there's smoke there's fire, right? There's a ton of papers/websites running with this rumor. I guess we'll just have to wait and see if it comes to fruition. ITK did say we were looking at the deal late in the summer window.Tottenham being linked to Gent's Sander Berge again. A replacement for Dembele. 20 yrs old Norwegian
He's being linked with Sevilla in the past and Arsenal amongst other top clubs have him on their radar
I tend to agree at this point. My only reason to sell would be if Poch is just going to continue to not use him. He's only played 136 minutes so far this season with 77 of those coming in one game. If Poch is only going to start him once every 4 months the transfer fee may be more valuable than that.Pointless selling him now, we'll still need him for some FA Cup matches and possibly Europa.

We've had injuries to Eriksen, Dele plus Son and Kane exhaustion from international duties (yes I fully realize some of those are AM but it would have allowed us to fit Llorente into a 2 striker system to accommodate those guys). I agree he's played better this year than last, but I'm just not convinced Poch is going to use him enough to offset a potential transfer fee we could use towards something else. He'd have played more if we'd had injury problems. That's the whole point of having him. I think he's done well for us considering the amount of time on the pitch he's been given and our inability to play to his strengths.

I think thats a part of it as well. Not convinced it's just money in/money out but players out/players in.
For all the talk of needing new Cms in the Summer we had 5 internationals for those two spots so there was no justification for adding a new one until one was moved on. Indeed, we were unable to shift anyone we didn't want out the door.
As a result, if we can get Llorente out the door early it's a bonus irrespective of a few million. And then if there is an opportunity to bring someone in there's a space in the squad for them already.
He's only been at chelsea a couple of months. Some players need time to adapt. Son wasn't very good on his first season
I always take European news outlets with the largest pinch of salt imaginable because 1) They tend to write a lot about PL teams buying players that are neither the nationality of the paper or play in the country the paper covers (e.g. an Italian outlet writing a story about an English team bidding for a French player). 2) What is not in category 1 is a lot of the time just musings or thought pieces with throw away sentences that twitter news aggregators or sites like sportwitness somehow manage to churn a story out of.Calcio Mercato running a story saying we've enquired about Ndombele, whatever the hell that means, and that Juventus don't want to get in a bidding war for Ndombele. Us, City, Barca & Juve were named the as the teams who have enquired Lyon about him.
I read the actual article rather than just the tweet from Ricky Sacks. It was from Fabrizio Romano, who I think is decent for Juve news (could be wrong). It was from the perspective of what Juve were up against to get the player.I always take European news outlets with the largest pinch of salt imaginable because 1) They tend to write a lot about PL teams buying players that are neither the nationality of the paper or play in the country the paper covers (e.g. an Italian outlet writing a story about an English team bidding for a French player). 2) What is not in category 1 is a lot of the time just musings or thought pieces with throw away sentences that twitter news aggregators or sites like sportwitness somehow manage to churn a story out of.
Ndombele is near peak on my want list and I'm refusing to even consider that we've so much as passed wind in his general direction until a site more credible than that perks up with something concrete.
A few questions about Sessegnon;
Does he want to be a LB or an AM?
Is he good enough defensively to be our LB?
Why would Fulham let him go in Jan when they're in a dog fight?
If we free up some HG places aren't we better going for Grimaldo, Telles or similar?

Could very well be. But if he is available for so cheap I would expect a number of big clubs to be interested so Roma might get forced into stumping up the cash for a big budget.Cheers
Sounds like Roma are trying to get him to extend his contract. Maybe these links to Man U are just part of that negation.
