Got to get an away goal and make sure we're still in it for the home leg. They're likely to score at ours so we need that away goal.

Arguably the two best teams in the competition facing off. Hell of a tie. I'm very excited to see how our young guys match up against the proven quality that Dortmund possess. It's very useful that the 2nd leg is at the Lane. We will know exactly what we need to do.

I would have prefered Braga, Anderlecht or Sparta Praha
However, at least this is a EL game that will fire up the players and the crowd (the "biggest" EL game of the round I dare say) and give them a taste of the quality of the team Spurs will meet in next season's CL (SHOULD Spurs quality for the CL that is).

Thursdays are becoming the new Wednesdays.

Champions League can bore off.

The Europa League is a much better competition this year.

We all know only three teams can win the the Champions League but there are at least 8 teams that could win the Europa this year.

If we are serious about winning this tournament then we have to beat teams like Dortmund.

I would say its a fairly 50/50 match with us at home for the 2nd leg giving us slight advantage

I'm over the moon with this tie, best I could have hoped for. Love the Westfalenstadion, easily one of the best in europe. We played a friendly there some years back and I was happy to see us play there then but will be great to see us play there in a competitive match.

For once the EL has some real significance, can't wait!!!!!!!!! Wish I could go.

Second leg at home is even better, just how I would have planned it. We may go through or we may go out but it will be good to see us tested against top quality opposition once again like when we played Inter and Real in the CL.

Point is, it's not unusual to be a winner by virtue of avoiding battling the best opponent. But not for Spurs. We like it the hard way.

Great draw. We can pit ourselves against a top club. Further our team's education. Not a long journey either.

Above all, though, I'd much rather play Dortmund now. If we lose to them, fine, we won't have 'wasted' 6 matches getting to the Final and not win silverware (in the sense we can focus on the PL). If we win, we will have knocked out one of the favorites and know we can go all the way and lift the EL trophy.

Compare 'Spurs v Dortmund' last 16 in EL with 'Gent v Wolfsburg' last 16 in CL. I know which one is the higher quality, more exciting match up for fans round the world!

The Westfalenstadion really is fantastic. When I watched Dortmund play Hamburg there a couple of years ago, they had loads of away fans mixing with the home fans in the stadium stands - and it was all completely fine.

Does anyone know if it's like that in the rest of Germany?

This sums up what 'Spursy' used to mean. This is the kind of game Tottenham were once about and hopefully will be about again. If the youngsters here think they have had some great nights at the Lane then this will be something! COYS!!

Also worth noting that this is not a Dortmund side that is in the EL because they failed in the CL.
They've been in the EL from the qualifying stage.

Because they were dreadful for the first half of last season under Klopp. This season they may be 8 points behind Bayern, but they're 15 clear of Hertha in third.

I've always liked Dortmund, fantastic support (like unreal support).

This is a great tie, with two teams very much on the go.

Literally cannot wait, although I was hoping for an easier draw, as soon as this happened, found myself pretty happy with it.

Edit - of course it doesn't matter because the game is on the 17th....
