Why do you think the members on this forum would be any better than those on SO? Based on the various ****ish posts on here I doubt it somehow

Because I have had no issues whatsoever since I came across. The general cross section of forum members may be the same, but sounds to me the way the two site's are run and moderated are clearly worlds apart. I have had plenty of advice from the mods here(as was the same on COYS), and also been told that should there be an issue either via PM or through the forum itself the full support of those that matter can very much be counted on. (y)
Thats good to know @Trix . Now we can be more appreciative of @Archibald&Crooks ban stick!

Dwight Gayle anyone?

Not itk, but my sons friends all know / grew up with him in the Chingford area, One of them spoke to him yesterday and he said he was going to Spurs. Perhaps hes one of the ones being sounded out if Berahino falls through?

Serious pinch of salt needed, just passing on in good faith.

Its not like berahino is some world class maverick we are fighting the big clubs to have. We are he only ones who want him and hes not better than Kane. He raw and with time I think he will be a good player to have, but it seems the hope of the season rests on him. Why haven't we moved onto another target already

Why would we move on when the player is happy to come to us? All that needs to be agreed is the fee, which will surely be agreed at some point soon. WBA bringing in two new strikers must indicate they are planning for his departure.

Why didn't we keep on Soldado until we had a replacement?

We did.

How long do we give wba and Berahino before we move on? Whilst its fair enough that prices change etc, I get the feeling that the longer this drags, the worse it is for us.

I get the whole "better in the long term" stance on transfers and therefore waiting for the right target etc but surely with Berahino and his proven in the prem etc, together with his age would be worth perhaps slightly paying over the odds to get him in and integrated as any price we pay is likely to be recouped.

Either way I hope we get our main targets but don't wait too long if we can't get them. I'd also hope we have several other irons in the fire considering our fancy scouting team

Well he has just turned down a move to Bristol City. :giggle:

Move on. Move on. Move on.

To who? This attitude is so annoying. I get you're frustrated, but we pay what we value the player at. If that's less than the Seller wants but all parties believe we can EVENTUALLY get there then maybe it's worth waiting for. The player may benefit us for years to come. Why can't you see that? Have a slightly more long-term based look at it and think, on balance is it better to get the player after a tricky negotiation and have him for however many years or is it better to get another also-ran in that barely improves us and we sell next year at a loss.

Obviously that may not be the only option, but it kinda looks like that to me.

So yes, drawing with Stoke ISN'T ideal. Nor is losing to them two games in a row. But if Toby doesn't give away the penalty - something completely not related to any of our transfer activity then we wouldn't be talking about this today. Those are the fine lines we're apparently dealing with with some of our fans.

Is that you Daniel?

Can't say I've paid too much attention to him, but the usual suspects would moan about us signings palace rejects, ambition, levy out etc..

I've really liked him since I used to watch him here in Peterborough. He's got pace, a good finisher and we could do a lot worse as a back up option to Kane. Gayle would also be more understanding than some of our targets that he was a bench option, with scope to prove himself and therefore grow his role. Glad he's turned down Bristol City, he is a good deal better than that.

Re: The goats info. We've been here time and time again. We don't seem to ever learn do we? Farcical. Is it really that hard to sign a player(any player in world football) who can improve our squad/team? We all know how this usually ends. I'll reserve judgement until an hour or so after the transfer window closes. Still a shambolic way to go about your transfers.

With all the money in the world, City STILL don't have De Bruyne, Yanited STILL don't have their much needed and wanted striker, and Chelsea STILL haven't got Stones. Yet we are the ones dragging things out, while other clubs apparently don't? Lets just see who is still doing business in the last few days.

But they all have cover for those positions, correct? With the club having the fifth amount of wealth in the PL, and thirteenth in World football we still have Kane.

Not pissing on your theory but we have had ample time, and enough resources to secure one player that is an immediate need. Between them Baldini, Mitchell and Levy just have to take some responsibility for working at the only professional British football club fielding a single striker two weeks into a new season.

I know A&C is at pains to tell you all to keep it On Topic in here, but I never thought the ITK Transfer Discussion Thread would literally involve the discussion of transferring an ITK.

I don't want backups to Kane. I want someone of equal ability or potential that will push him or at least adequately substitute for him. I understand the 'players won't want to be sub's etc' but if you're either happy being sub or can't handle competition for your place I don't want you at my club.

My senitments exactly, poor city only have Silva, Yaya, Navas, Nasri, Sterling and some promising youth. Chelsea only have Costa, Falcao and Remy. United only have Rooney & Hernandez to be fair but have an equally scattergun transfer approach as us
