Ahhh, the wheels are in motion already.

We've had the same shit relayed to us, as usual. The initial 'Lessons Have Been Learnt™, we've got our targets and we'll get them in for preseason' stuff in May/June.
Then 'We're really trying to get them in but deals are proving difficult, they'll be in by the first game' followed by some classic clubs/ agents messing us around talk. We miss out on some crucial points but that's ok because theres 15/14/13/12/11 etc. days left of the window and that doesn't make a difference in the grand scheme of things at the end of the season, somehow.

[Insert random late signing from Ligue One] is a great signing and Poch is totally on board with this signing - until next summer and he, or next [insert manager with a philosophy], tries to get rid.
'We know we're not as strong as we'd hoped in some key areas but don't worry Lessons Have Been Learnt™ - 6 years in a row now - and targets have been identified and deals are being worked on already for January and next summer. But don't worry drawing against Stoke is fine because we lost to them last year, 1 point up already. Great success!!
I used to laugh my head off at the idea of propaganda but now it's not quite so funny any more.

Who should we move on to that won't need time to settle into the league and culture, that offers the same skillset that Berahino does?
But is it just a fee thing? Do we just have to suck it and pay more? We can 100% right off the season of we don't get a back up to Kane. If all eggs are in berahino basket and it doesn't come off we are in serious trouble

You def have a point I agree. It just seems that we have always do the strung out transfer saga so it always seems to strike a nerve with me!
We do the strung out transfer because you hear about it early. I can assure you with considered and researched buys(not ones made in desperation) it is the same at every club, even the rich ones.

Its not like berahino is some world class maverick we are fighting the big clubs to have. We are he only ones who want him and hes not better than Kane. He raw and with time I think he will be a good player to have, but it seems the hope of the season rests on him. Why haven't we moved onto another target already

Dare I utter it again ... maybe there isn't one.

Please note: this is information from an actual person with knowledge of how these things work. Choosing not to believe this is choosing your own version of events, lads, and why I get so annoyed at those that don't listen to this sort of stuff.

This is just nonsense. Every club finds it difficult. The evidence for this is the fact that every single club is still trying to do deals on the last day of the window.

It's easy to think we're the only ones struggling. Everyone bar Liverpool have struggled to make transfers this window. It's easier to make transfers if you've money to throw around. We don't. Why don't people understand this yet? It's been all summer!

Wake up to reality.
Explain to me why we don't have money to throw around?

We made over 600m last year chuck in player sales another £100m plus a higher TV revenue this year. We have one of the richest chairmen in world football a new stadium nearly all funded with naming rights due to come....no money that rubbish.
Where has it all gone!

The operative word in your post is if. Basically you are panicking because you don't know, and not because you do.

You serious?

Do the words, "Northumberland Project" mean anything to you?

The asking price changes though. West Brom have had a contract on the table for Berahino for ages and are open to negotiate that with him. The fact he has refused means this time next year he will be going into his final year, and what ever bargaining power they have to sell will be halved. Some clubs can afford that to happen West Brom though are not one of them. Add to that the negative affect of keeping a player around that doesn't want to be there, and also the possibility of ending up paying a player the manger won't play(if he acts up). So the price at the start of the window when you have a player with a good season under his belt, is behaving himself, and may have multiple interested parties, will be different to one at the end of the window when you are left with only option of shifting him. There are deals where you are right, it's too difficult so move on quickly. There are others though that can alter dramatically over the space of only a few weeks.

I think this is where things have changed. All the Premier League clubs can afford to keep hold of their prized assets with all the cash floating around due to the TV money.

If the player kicks up a fuss then maybe they will be willing to compromise but in the case of Berahino he seems pretty content, judging by his social media posts.

With all the money in the world, City STILL don't have De Bruyne, Yanited STILL don't have their much needed and wanted striker, and Chelsea STILL haven't got Stones. Yet we are the ones dragging things out, while other clubs apparently don't? Lets just see who is still doing business in the last few days.
I wonder what planB is for chelsea/manu and city and what level of player it is and shouldn't we have been going for their planB in the first place, assuming they are what we are looking for.

Well if I knew I wouldn't have put if
And if you knew, maybe you wouldn't be getting so vexed about it.
The key point is none of us know anything more than the snippets we get from those who do.
There's no point stressing about things that we have no knowledge about, nor any control over.

How is that funded?
I believe a huge subsidiary from the council.
Selling of land we have bought previously.
NFL sponsorship
Naming rights

I believe that's close to £400m.

So where has the rest of the cash gone.
Guess what thread this is. Go on. Take a wild stab at it.

Ha! We're not West Ham mate, there's no "huge subsidy". There's some public money, right. But a fuck load of it is ours.
