Let's just say that after selling Bale we buy Lamela and Coentrao, and that takes our net spending to zero. Then we still have the 50 million Lewis gave us left to spend. So we could buy a top class CB, and a forward as backup/competition for Soldado, but one that could also drop deeper into attacking midfield (ie a Rooney type player). Would people prefer to keep Bale and stay as we are, or sell him and build a complete team?

I think we are at a stage now where we have a very strong squad and don't need additional squad improvements. What we need to focus on, and what Willian and potentially Lamela represent, are direct improvements to our first eleven. We only have so much space in the squad whereas Bale staying as ITK is hopefully suggesting considerably improves our team

This isn't ITK and I'm not sure if I'm meant to speak to the mods before posting, but I guess I'm about to find out.

I've just left a photoshoot with Sergio Ramos in Madrid and as it does during the course of the day conversation turned to football and the players that Real had recruited this summer. I said 'you guys better stay away from Bale' to which he replied something along the lines of 'No. This is already done, he's coming next week'. I questioned if this was true and he said it's what they've been told and he hopes Ronaldo is ok with it followed by a smile and raised eyebrow.

This doesn't mean it's fact and I'm purely sharing as some may find it of interest, so make of it what you will. Salt and all that...

He probably is gone but as long as we push home Coentrao, Lamela and 2/3 others I'm chilled about it.

Still remains to be seen if this window will be an exceptional one or leave a slightly sour taste in my mouth.
