he wants to leave but as we're not prepared to let him go yet, he's going to give it everything for a year then go with our blessing. that's my take on it and we're spending on the back of it. could be a balls out season that's got glory written all over it.

shit. now i've got a chubby.
Weren't sure whether to rate this agree or informative ;)

I went for the first option lol

I'd love to know exactly how it's meant when people are saying Levy is moving the goalposts.

Is it the case that RM call up on day one bidding 60 mil, and DL turns around and asks for 70 mil.

RM call up the next day and agree on 70 mil, but DL then turns around saying the price is now 80 mil.

Basically every time they make an offer, does DL demand an extra load on top, no matter how much they offer?

Not sure really. The 2011 situation with Modric was completely black and white. Levy came out and said Modric would not be sold. After that there was no chance of him being sold that summer.

If JJ is saying there's a chance of him leaving, I reckon he must be talking about last summer.

But how could that be good news

JJ said its all good news. He obviously believes there's a bigger chance of Bale staying now than there was originally when he posted earlier in the window. I'll certainly take that as a positive

Reading between the lines a bit surely if Parker was going to QPR via Ryan or JJ or both, we'd know about it?
As such i'm thinking he's off to West Ham.

Capoue done is great but I think we've been there for a couple of days now, why does it always take forever for the club to confirm?
And Bale is a Modric situation? No problem! Madrid still need to find £100m with a chunk up front, not £30m in installments. Ha ha ha!:LOL::LOL:

See? JJ's info is good news. (y)

If he wasn't just referring to Capoue I'd say the good news is that there's no chance of letting Bale leave until we have a decent replacement sorted, and that we get a suitable fee. Last summer JJ said that the Modric situation was like that.

Going by JJ's info, I think Levy's passed the wheelbarrow onto Baldini, and now has a minibus full of deadwood players that's he's carting around the country

Although I know this is the most positive JJ has been about Bale... I really don't find it that positive.

If Bale has his heart set on Madrid, and I think we have to concede that he almost certainly does, then he's going to feel quite deflated if we end up forcing him to stay another year.

I know it's a delicately poised situation, and I'm not saying that Levy should cave in to Madrid's never never payment plan, but I do feel it's best for all concerned that he leaves this summer.

For me I think the good news is that it doesn't look so certain as it did that Madrid are going to come up with an acceptable offer.

The Modric situation is just so different. The difference in the money, for a start, is vast. Considerable.

I think JJ is referring to the fact that Bale might be ok with staying another year, much like Modric was. The big caveat being if Madrid do go for it this summer and fling a huge sum are way - he will indeed be sold, and we'd be happy to do so.

Well if the reports from Twitter were correct last night, Bale and Levy were together at the lane last night, and given JJ's "not quite so negative" post with regards to the situation, it sounds to me like Bale won't exactly kick up a stink if he does end up staying.

That's me just feeling my onions there

i think the bale info from JJ is more positive than negative. to me it means that the ball is with madrid, and they have to come up with our valuation to make it work. similar to what happened with chelsea. JJ seems to think that madrid will find a way to make the money happen -- hence why his bet is on bale leaving.

i sincerely hope though that levy has a timeframe in mind -- and has told them that they have until XX date to match his valuation, otherwise all negotiations are off until next summer.

great news about Capoue too... think he's gonna be the Thing to compliment our Beast!

Appreciate JJ's update but surely he hasn't logged in wrote that message then immediately shut down SC... So he must of saw people were slightly perplexed. Would only take him a second to clarify what he exactly meant by the Modric comment and save pages of speculation and spam...

We really don't

We had it last year, and the year before. Then there was the Sky Sports bollocks about Levy's magical wheelbarrow. So that's the last three years that we've had rumours about Levy opening up his wallet.

Difference being that this year he's done that already.

At first, perhaps. But if the team starts well, he isn't likely to sulk for too long.
