It's not difficult. JJ said good news. Now he has been adamant that Bale is categorically off. This the first time that he has slightly waivered. By saying a Modric situation he means 2011.

He does still say that his money is on him leaving, but this is the first time that he has said that he could stay

he wants to leave but as we're not prepared to let him go yet, he's going to give it everything for a year then go with our blessing. that's my take on it and we're spending on the back of it. could be a balls out season that's got glory written all over it.

shit. now i've got a chubby.

Not sure really. The 2011 situation with Modric was completely black and white. Levy came out and said Modric would not be sold. After that there was no chance of him being sold that summer.

If JJ is saying there's a chance of him leaving, I reckon he must be talking about last summer.

Hope she's OK.

Cheers mate, she's doing ok now she's back on her drip. Pregnant with our third child and has severe hyperemises which means she can't eat our drink anything and is throwing up all the time. All which makes her severely dehydrated.

Just realised I've told you lot about the baby before anyone else. Gotta love the Spurs family.

Hope your hospital thingy today went ok as well? Our am I getting my posters mixed up?

How the f*ck does he get to that conclusion?
Not to go OT, but sawkerball is very clearly growing in the States. Maybe it'll plateau from here on out, maybe not, but it's a genuine entity now either way and that's something I never thought would happen, even when I was living in the States just after the WC there. It's come a hell of a long way in less than 20 yrs.

I dont think Bale will strop like Modric did if he stays another year. I expect him to be on top form in several weeks time. Hopefully just enough quality to help us beat Arsenal, start to feel the groove in September and then back to his old self against Chelsea at the end of September all the way until Christmas.

Followed by a blip in January when the rumours come back up and then back on form in February and beyond.

(too many made up numbers fyi)

FYI while I cannot claim to be spot on on each (or any) number, they are far more informed than you might imagine, both the wages and the transfer fee's. I can confidently say that the vast majority are within 10% and very few more than 20% off.

As to whether we suceed in all the sales we'd like, time will obviously tell. And purchases won't be made for much more than the stated figures.

Modric situation... so we're going to sell him to Real Madrid for far less than he's really worth... doesn't sound all that good!

My point was that this is what information has been provided. I expect if there was more, he'd tell us if he could.

We all know that something is on the cards and that we are being bombarded by RM. But by saying I quote
'We are exactly in a Modric situation now with him' is still double edged. So I have to assume that this is part1 of the saga. We tell everyone we are not selling then part 2 of the saga plays out at the end of next season. Please don't take this as ITK its my opinion.

EDIT: Not ITK bashing just trying to clarify.

Oh btw, Jasper on SO replied this tonight re the Capoue and Atletico rumor:
"I got told on Friday that the deal was completely done subject to medical and his records from before showed no problems anticipated in that department, he agreed everything and provisional there are normally some paperwork you sign prior medicals. On Saturday it was agreed that he would be going off with French squad and formalities will be announced later on so find it strange. I hope it is media bs as it would be frustrating and embarrassing from a PR point of view"

To me it sounds like the 2011 situation, the club have constantly said he isnt for sale and that stance hasnt changed, its all just been media hype.
JJ may still think he will leave as money always wins and if madrid do lose their marbles and come up with a crazy bid then it might just change the clubs stance

I wish the best of luck to Parker he gets a lot of abuse on here but always played 100% for the club. Since I've supported the club can't remember a player who put his body on the line for the shirt as much as him.Respect Scott.

I think it'll be really interesting how far that "spending" ITK from The Goat might go. To be honest, I think we've done brilliant business to this point and if we can keep Bale, I'm confident in this team moving forward. Maybe not title contenders right now, but at least good enough to secure 4th and possibly challenge for that 2nd/3rd spot if we don't get the most awful luck ever (Oh wait, I'm a Tottenham supporter).

So, even if it's an additional 25-30m to spend, I think that really could go a long way in getting us over the hump of hoping for Champions League to hoping for a title challenge. That being said, expecting us to spend around 80m on incomings, without the sale of Bale sounds absurd.

I'd be all for it, though.
