Will you give just 50p a month to save an ITK?

our tax-deductible contribution of just 0.50 a month connects your ITK with a loving,Sponsorship Program.
Your support provides:
  • Food and clean water
  • Medical care
  • Educational opportunities
  • Important life-skills training
  • Most important of all, it gains them access to the internet and Twitter to spread the news
When you sponsor a ITK, you'll receive your ITK's photo, personal story and a ITK's sponsorship packet by mail in approximately 15 days.
When ITK find out they've been sponsored, the joy they feel is indescribable. Just knowing that someone across the globe cares means more than you can imagine. Sponsoring a ITK will profoundly change the future for your ITK, and will change your own life as well.

The worst thing to happen to the planet was Twitter.

Well that and Luis Suarez.

Twitter is good for banter, but due to the fact you cant moderate it, it's really not the place for ITK. Everytime someone mentions @SCITK you should see the abuse they get, I cant imagine it really does the site any favours.

For what it's worth there are many ways to be captain I.e. leading by example etc.

However, it goes beyond this at many clubs. The captain is the main link between the team and the manager and will speak on behalf of the team to many people. Also they act as a mediator for many problems amongst the team before it escalates. Personally I do not think bale has the attributes yet. Nice lad and all but it needs more and I would prefer him to just play his football freely and leave the other stuff to people who were 'made' to be leaders in their persona. Of course this is just an observation about bale and he may well be more vocal behind the scenes.

I guess my point is let him do what he does best without burdening him for the sake of it when we have others who are ready made e.g. Daws/verts

I personally find Twitter very useless in both a footballing context and wider... You just have to be able to distinguish the bullshit from the useful info.

Let's put aside our doubts, and instead positively picture a team next year that looks a little something like this:

Lloris
Walker - Kaboul - Verts - BAE
Sandro - Paulihno - Dembele
Bale - Soldado - Chadli

Ah, hell yea! We are gonna fuck some bitches up, yo!!!

honestly don't see how people defend him on a footballing basis.

i know with kaboul out he is the natural and first choice replacement but he is just simply not good enough if we want to push on and finisih top four as a minimun.

the fact that when we wanted to sell only QPR showed serious interest (that i know of) tells you everything.

Nobody wants to buy any of our players with the fucking price tags levy puts on em!! Bet even Perez spat out his coffee when he saw bales price.

But regarding Dawson I think he's a good defender. Commanding and committed. Doesn't shy away. A bit too slow on the turn but still good back up. And he's far better than caulker. He's never gonna make first team at spurs

Twitter sucking is not ITK.

Because I don't have to apply salt to that nugget of information.

Am I the only one who feels that Dawson has done nothing but be exactly what you want in a captain? This is a guy that was all but written off and he rejected the move to QPR because he wanted to earn his keep. At that time he was pretty much 3rd/4th choice and when Kaboul went down he righted the ship.

If it weren't for Dawson we would have most likely been up shit's creek with Gallas or Caulker starting a majority of the matches. He was completely solid throughout the year and at times he was our most consistent CB.

I don't mind if Bale's a vice captain for when Dawson is not on the pitch, but not as the outright captain. Dawson's been far too great in that role for us.

Whilst I agree that Dawson is an excellent captain with exactly the attitude you want to see in the man representing your club, had it been Real Madrid rather than QPR after his signature, things may have been a bit different.

- No real width on left.
- Who knows how quickly Sandro and Kaboul will find form.
- Power, power and more power. No good just running into the brick wall that teams put up against us.

and...

- We still have time to fuck up Soldado deal.
- We still have time to sell Bale for £15m, 10 mins before the transfer window shuts.

Apart from that... Good team :D

Bale as captain has some merit.

-There are new players arriving at the club who will see him as the icon of the team, they will have no issue with him being captain.
-Dawson is likely to be in and out of the team
-His performances over the last 6 months of the season were talismanic, he's earnt status as a 'team leader'
-In enmeshes his status within the club, and with the responsibility it would carry will make him more integral and a greater part of the club off the field, potentially giving him an increased sense of responsibility & loyalty to the club.
-It shows him his value to all within the club; he is wanted here

All of the above may just help in a long term sneaky strategy to keep him longer, and if that's the case, then why the fuck not?

Does being club captain also add even more to his value if we decide to sell?

First team captain = Dawson (at the moment)

Bale is taking up club captain role which Ledley king held towards the latter stages of his career

Think that's right anyway?
