Why would we sign another Midfielder? We would be way too stacked unless there is concern over Dembele.

Also why is he called genuine ITK; isn't that trying to almost prove he is.

Don't think he's called genuine ITK lol...think someone was saying this is genuine ITK, no?

Good for rotation especially as we know we'll be taking the Europa League very seriously. I think AVB wants more strength in depth so he can stick to his guns on the Europa League whilst not compromising League performance. He wants both basically and that's a good move in my mind.

We want to be able to rotate and still have a feeling that we have a very strong side out.

is it this year that the winners get CL footy

The guy is called Spurs Clock, he's saying genuine ITK as an introduction to the post.

(it was reported... that) Everton had a £12m bid turned down the other day and were told it was £8m short of what they want[/B][/I].[/B][/I]
even if we think we will move the likes of Parker, Hud and Livermore on we would still have

Sandro, Paulhinio, Dembele, Carroll, Holtby and Sigy

Dont think we need to get another CM in unless he will be offering something different or a lot more than what we have.

Wow....I like the player and all but if that's even remotely accurate....NEXT.

Well fair play to this Spurs Clock fella - he's not really left any lingering doubt or uncertainty with his news there. If we do get McCarthy developments soonish then his ITK status seems pretty certain.

McCarthy is surely going to cost in excess of £10million and Paulinho has basically negated any need of bolstering the middle of the park.

Good player but i'm really struggling how we fit Dembele, Sandro, Paulinho and McCarthy in a side!

Plus holtby, Carroll, siggy (although he can play in a front 3 as well I suppose)

The only thing he really offers us is a more proven version of Tom Carroll in that he plays with his head up and constantly looks to keep the ball moving.

But, I agree, I don't like the idea of it as it just marginalizes Holtby more.

To add to the Mcarthy news (I have no idea of the current bid status) I was told by someone who seemed pretty adamant from the Wigan side of the world that we had agreed terms with the player at the start of the summer and that he expected to come here. I think we were looking to pay 8m and they wanted over double that.

Being that Sandro wont be fully fit until mid September at the earliest he would probably start the first handful of games too. Parker, and hud presumably on the way out and perhaps the Livermore to Villa rumours are indeed true

I tell you what, if its true, and we've had a bid accepted for McCarthy (and it sounds like it would be a pretty big bid) and it compromises our ability to get Benteke I'll be

I do like McCarthy though. Just better not affect our pursuit of Benteke.

3 of them will be starters in our strongest line up, and for the 3 of them we need quality replacements.
Hudd given a run in the team would get up to a pretty high level of performance, but he wont get that run in the team. Livermore is limited, Parker is getting on. Who else have we got?
McCarthy was impressive last season and I'd be happy to sign him, but I would have thought Wigan would have wanted upwards of £15m. Big money.

My point stands though, we need quality cover for our starting 3 of Sandro, Paulinho and Dembele.

[Update 4] Jasper on Anderson and McCarthy

Who: Jasper
When: 12th may
Where: SO

Anderson we are inquiring actively as we did last season and wanted him. McCarthy also def interest there. Is it vague to say we are very interested, extremely in fact and talking.

I think Anderson would suit a 3 system midfield. Lot of people don't rate him but he always puts a shift in and if anything, it will mean the fucker can't score past us as he usually tends to.
