Gards has said the mystery player's club may not know about his visit, so it probably isn't one of Chadli's friends from Twente. Luke Shaw perhaps?

Yeah just think of who Berbs had behind him and who Ade had. If berbs played in this tottenham current team as he proved with Man Utd, he'd be top scorer

Not really he only scored 20 goals for Man U in one season out of the four in the league and i am sure 5 or 6 of those came in one game against Blackburn?

He was a great player no doubt but sometimes we remeber what we want to in regars to how effective he was for us, he wasn't really effective for Man U, for me Carrick was the biggest loss.

Anyhoo i have spammed this thread enough, don't want to get band, i love ITK and SC to much :)

four of Berba's 15 goals in his second season came against Reading at home IIRC. Not sure what point i'm trying to make, but there you go.

taking time to negotiate, in our favour the Villa deal is no big deal. Yes we come back for pre-season tomorrow but Villa would have an extended holiday anyway so as long as its ready for when his holiday finishes, happy days

Where has all this talk about us not being willing to meet Barca's asking price for Villa come from? As I thought all the ITK info has pointed to us getting closer? And Wishkah had some info that we have a LOC?

Nacer Chadli (born 2 August 1989) is a Belgian professional footballer of Moroccan ancestry who plays as a winger for Dutch clubFC Twente.[1]

Creative, quick and skilful. Think he's about 6'2 so he's not gonna be pushed around. Can play anywhere in an attacking three, as played as a striker before ( in his youth), but much better out wide...

Wouldn't really describe him as any of them really. He's more a Stuart Downing type winger, only a bit bigger and stronger. Not really what we need IMO.

No I think Bill Nick was intelligent enough to understand the reality of today's game. We don't have oil money and have to do the best we can.

A lot of you want Levy to fail so that a shining knight ready to invest £billions will ride up and save us. Guess what, it's not going to happen. Even Chelsea and city can't spend money they don't have anymore.

We've just come off the back of our best points tally and added a Brazilian international to the squad, we are looking at bolstering the squad even more, but still some of you want to have a dig. Wait till the window is over, see what has happened and then air your disappointment. Doing it every time we have a setback is annoying.

We made £400k profit the other year, with £70m debt where do you think the money comes from as we only had £11m in the bank last season?
I totally agree with what you're saying Lilbaz, but that wasn't the thrust of my post, mate. I was questioning the idea that profitability should be value that characterises the success of our club. For some people that might be all-important, and I understand and respect that, but it's not for me. If we were to save a couple of million on Villa, there might be some who take a look at the balance-sheet and spank one off safe in the knowledge that our accounts are in such rude health. Personally, I'd rather get a thick 'un watching Villa smash a hattrick against the Scum. Perhaps I'm being dangerously naive and idealistic mate, but I fail to see that spending an additional €3 mil on a world-renowned striker, is going to send us into spiralling Portsmouth-esque insolvency! And realistically, where else do u think we'll find a striker of that quality, at that price?

Are you sure you're not just making that comparison because of Wolly McBrolly?

No - I remember him from the two UEFA cup matches in 2010. He scored against us in both games actually.

Fulham tried to sign him to replace Dempsey. He's a decent player, but Fulham are really his level IMO.

Aston Villa and Swansea are supposed to be in primary position for him now - fee reportedly £5-6m
