I think JJetset is the safe pair of hands taking the club forward

FYP. ;)

In all seriousness tho, I think JJ's snippet on Anelka not coming is my favourite ITK so far this 'summer'. Very, very relieved that this is not heppening. Thanks JJ.

Annelka was someone who would have "done a job for us"...... krancjar and saha were people who did a job for us, i think (and hope) we are dining at a different table this summer.

rubbish. we dine at a different tabel every summer and have done for long time.

when is last time we bought a striker a top top striker at peak of his career and in his prime years?

when have we ever signed or beaten other top teams to a truly world clas talent?

we sign players the truly top clubs dont want or are not willing to take gamble on. sometimes they work for us ala modric and bale but in the main we sign what i call level 2 or level 3 type signings. it just so happens that such signings might be good thi summer cos we have world class in modric and bale and lesser extent vdv and walker but its typical spurs to sell one of them and appease fans then by signing 4 or 5 players to value of world class player leaving.

interesting summer ahead on all fronts but i for one am not holding breath on anything exciting happening.
vertongthen will be great signing but apart from that ill be shocked if spurs splash the cash and keep the proper players

We all know where our manager was yesterday, but what of the chairman?

Is he back in the country yet? Is he hard at (transfer) work or just watching the Euros?

Any ideas?
He's not out of the country but with his family mourning the loss of his mother..

We can't really afford to do that because they are the most valuable commodities in the game and bigger fish who pay higher wages blow us out the water in any attempt for them

We need to sign a player who is ABOUT to be a top top striker entering the peak of his career, a Falcao before he moved to Porto, a Berbatov when we signed him, even a Cisse before Newcastle snapped him up. We need to start scouting top potential talent, not talent that may come good in 5 years talent that is already good and just hasn't had the opportunity to show case itself yet.

Thanks for that. Totally understandable and I only asked as it was suggested (earlier) that he was having meetings on Friday.
Considering he's so hands on, it'd be ambitious to expect much movement any time soon then.

Not sure if this was posted or if this guy is really ITK but the was posted last night on SO by Tottenham Chris

When asked about the guy he was drinking with ....

Make of it what you will

I hope its bull

Would of done better to of asked what he was drinking?
Isn't Anelka on about £1M for every touch of the ball he makes in China?

JJ any info on Eriksen potentially coming to Spurs?

If you can't say I'll understand...and maybe cry.

He has said in an interview today that he will not be leaving Ajax this summer even if there is increased interest after the Euros.
He then went on to say Vertonghen will be a great signing for us, and then he was asked 'Might you join him at Tottenham in the future?' He replied 'Maybe'.

So hopefullly weve got him on our radar.

Thank you A&C for the round up.

And thank you JJetset, your clarification really eased my heart! (y)

Not sure if this is really ITK, but it will comfort a few of us.

not true at all..

I think either JJ or one of the other ITKs said this without any prompting a couple of weeks back.
I could be wrong and am not inclined to trawl back through weeks of ITK to prove myself (perhaps a Death Match would suffice?).

Archibald then went on to say on the same matter as referred to above:
Levy makes most of the decisions currently anyway, yes he listens to Harrys suggestions- eg Friedel and Parker but some are solely levys responsibility- VDV, Vertonghen if it happens.

I presume we work differently to some clubs as some have a DOF and some allow the manager make all the decisions..

Many of the youngsters signed are down to agents and scouts and again mostly Levys doing.

Redknapp a lot of the time is instrumental in convincing the player if needed

Well he did try telling us he weren't " a facking wheeler dealer" ;)

Been quiet on vertonghen recently, wonder if the meeting his agent was supposed to be having on friday with us got put back because of levy's circumstances

Harry seemed to suggest yesterday that Levy will be back in a day or two which would tie in with the traditional Jewish week of mourning
