I'm trying very, very hard not to feel the same way.

I'd wait until after the transfer window until I arrive at any conclusions, but if we don't get a striker in, it raises huge questions about Harry's ability to identify massive problems with our strikeforce.

It would also ask questions about Levy's ability to realise that sometimes you have to pay over the odds in the short term in order to possibly do much better in the future (and thus make far more money), rather than massively limit the club's ability to capitalise on this rare window in the spotlight.

I was happy we got VDV, but still unimpressed at our inability to sign a striker. If we manage to go through both the summer tranfer window of 2010 and the January window of 2011 without bringing a new striker in (considering we've made £20m + from the champions league alone) it is nothing short of pathetic.

THIS. money makes money.

Summer is going to be unbearable with all the big clubs and City circling arounds us for Bale and Luka, unfortunately those clubs will actually stump up the cash needed to sign them and off they'll go.

We are so close. Just one final push is needed. All our time and investment for one season in the champs league. Joke.

Liverpool reject Torres transfer request... keeping an unhappy player may not be the best of moves

Sickening isn't it. You think you have become the new Liverpool, but in reality you have become the new Newcastle.

Guys if Harry seriously thinks that what our strikers have shown us in the first half of the season is good enough for to challenge for fourth place never mind the title he is sadly mistaken.

this is the first time that i have questioned his stewardship of our club but to not sign a striker when we so desperately need one and to sign a left sided player like pienaar when we dont need one must lead us to question his judgement.

I think we have taken our eye off the ball here with all the shit with beckham and the os. I also think the club are leaking the stories about being in for this or that striker or Levy is prepared to spend big and pay big wages when they had no intention of doing so.

I think we have missed a chance to push on and show we mean business and in turn missed a chance to move further ahead of Liverpool instead of standing still and allowing them to close the gap that we had opened up.

Now i know how the gooners fans feel when they can blatantly see what their team needs but their manager lives in cloud cuckoo land thinking that he already has the players there when it is plain to see he does not.

Where are all the 'calm down' merchants telling us all to stop being so negative?

My alter-ego was very fond of asking everyone to calm down...convinced that the club could not be so stupid as to put ourselves in this situation. He'd try to offer a reassuring word or two about the astuteness of our chairman and manager, and that with a little bit of faith it would all turn out sunny side up.

Tonight I beat him to death with an effigy of Frazier Campbell.

I don't get it, how can Harry think our strikers are good enough when the stats don't lie. To get top 4 or even top 6, we need to drastically improve our goal difference ... we don't have a hope in hell of doing it with our current strike-force.

Who can hand on heart say that were going to win away games at the likes of Sunderland, Blackpool, Blackburn, Wolves, Man City, Liverpool .... with our current squad? We'll be lucky to get draws at Sunderland, Man City and Wolves ....

With Bale injured, we should play a 4 4 2 against Fulham with Defoe and Crouch up front .... if that doesn't work then Levy has to sign someone ... anyone will do ... can't be any worse than our current misfiring bunch of muppets.

Not being funny but who what top striker will want to come to us if we are not in CL next season?

I dont rate Carroll but if he is as good as some people say, surely Man C, Man U maybe Liverpool will be after him?

Im still hopeful of a striker come Monday but i feel very very deflated that we let this opportunity go:sad:

I give Wenger one more season before he gets the boot. He has clearly lost whe he had ten years ago.

But, I agree, he seems to be suffering the same afflication that has beset Harry. However, I think there is a slight differece in that Wenger doesn't have this mindless and illogical loyalty to players even when they aren't cutting the mustard and a seemingly nervous approach to signing prem inexperienced players.

I know Crouch has never been prolific, but that is shocking...And I don't care what else he brings to the team, a striker is paid to score goals
Keaneo!!! fuck 451 or 4411 lets just do the 442 that has helped us get where we are. i dont give a shit who is dropped...! bale out as inj so modric left vdv and palicios in middle with short guy mostly inconsitant lennon on right. keane and defoe on and pav on bench. are we missing something with keane??? he is a legend! and he is only 30 years old for fuck sake. demons are telling me i am writing this but he was the most consistant goal scorer for 5 year.... pens, volleys, solo goals... lets get the the guy back. losing my faith with harrry. signed a lot of average players apart from vdv. levys signing tho. speaks volumes.

no point signing caroll his injured...Harry wouldn tsign Becks for less than 10 games so that same logic has to apply to Carrol surely?

It's annoying that for so many years one of the main stumbling blocks we had to signing big name players was the lack of CL football we had to offer.

Then we get CL and we seemingly fail to bring in anyone, bar VDV, which was a bit of a lucky one.
