Not being funny but who what top striker will want to come to us if we are not in CL next season?

I dont rate Carroll but if he is as good as some people say, surely Man C, Man U maybe Liverpool will be after him?

Im still hopeful of a striker come Monday but i feel very very deflated that we let this opportunity go:sad:

Hence the massive significance of this transfer window.

Keaneo!!! fuck 451 or 4411 lets just do the 442 that has helped us get where we are. i dont give a shit who is dropped...! bale out as inj so modric left vdv and palicios in middle with short guy mostly inconsitant lennon on right. keane and defoe on and pav on bench. are we missing something with keane??? he is a legend! and he is only 30 years old for fuck sake. demons are telling me i am writing this but he was the most consistant goal scorer for 5 year.... pens, volleys, solo goals... lets get the the guy back. losing my faith with harrry. signed a lot of average players apart from vdv. levys signing tho. speaks volumes.
Yup.

no point signing caroll his injured...Harry wouldn tsign Becks for less than 10 games so that same logic has to apply to Carrol surely?
Carrol ain't coming in the summer if the big boys are after him.

Now or never for any quality striker IMO.

Frankly we are lucky we got through the group stages and have CL still to offer. To go through two transfer windows with CL on the table and only have Stevie P to show for it (taking into account that VDV was basically dropped in our lap on the lats daty) is appalling.

Yeah, but its not just about what happens in the next 2 months. I would rather we bring Carrol in and let him sit on the treatment table until April tthan sign bugger all and then enter a bidding war in the summer, whilsyt trying to convince our top stars that we will be back into the CL year after next. Even if we get 5th, if we can't get the likes of Benzema, surely its better to have talent like Carroll on board now than wait?

I can see where you're coming from but in the current climate Chelsea are a much more attractive prospect than we are. We may be right behind them in th league but they are the current champions, CL regulars and offer big money.

We are a growing force but Torres will want to move somewhere he considers 'bigger' and regardless of our many stars we simply cannot provide that.

....tell me more about these women? :shifty:

Dude, give it a rest. I'm beginning to thing you know as much about football as KD Lang.

Torres will not be coming.
I will bet my house on that. Focus your energies elsewhere.

Compairing goal stats between this season and last, our current crop of strikers are on the same par as a Beachball !!!!!!!!!!!!

At his current rate of a goal per game (Messi-esque), beachball would command at least 45 million pounds from Sunderland (after all he is proven in the Prem and could handle a cold tuesday in Stoke) and would demand 150k/week.

Don't forget that world-beating, much needed goal scorer we desperately need...Khumal..oh...he's another fucking CB......

If Caroll is injured would he even pass a medical ?
That's a misunderstanding of what medicals are for. They are so that the club can make sure there is no long term hinderance to the player's ability to perform and thus fulfill his contract, be it crippling injury or unrelated issues, such as heart conditions, cancer and so on.

I feel sorry for the club, if we'd have got into the CL back when BMJ was in charge, we could have pushed on from there and cemented our place at the top of the table

Now when we do manage to reach the CL, in our first season in it, we're fighting against the new Chelski in the league to make sure we stay in it, a total curve-ball that could throw a major spanner in the works, how could we have a contingency plan for that?

One dodgy lasagna has caused us a major headache

We're still in the mix though, for all the negative vibes here, we're still well within reach, and that's with our misfiring strikers. We've got pretty much all of the toughest fixtures behind us, so the run in should be pretty much downhill from here, the way I see it is we should gain ground on all the teams above us

If we don't get a new world class striker we'll all be hacked off, but how many shiny new strikers hit the ground running? Everyone's making out like it's the end of the world if we don't sign anyone, but we've got an awesome team that have pulled off some amazing performances so far this season, and I'll be cheering them on no matter what

Get a grip people
