I am beginning to hope that keane has a second coming with us. Proven prem goalscorer.

Could he do it? Probably not. But I'm desperate.

We still have Sir Les? He could still do a job.

Suarez hasn't actually signed for Liverpool has he? He has permission to talk to them and have a medical according to their website. I wonder if the Torres news will stop him signing?

I'm trying very, very hard not to feel the same way.

I'd wait until after the transfer window until I arrive at any conclusions, but if we don't get a striker in, it raises huge questions about Harry's ability to identify massive problems with our strikeforce.

It would also ask questions about Levy's ability to realise that sometimes you have to pay over the odds in the short term in order to possibly do much better in the future (and thus make far more money), rather than massively limit the club's ability to capitalise on this rare window in the spotlight.

I was happy we got VDV, but still unimpressed at our inability to sign a striker. If we manage to go through both the summer tranfer window of 2010 and the January window of 2011 without bringing a new striker in (considering we've made £20m + from the champions league alone) it is nothing short of pathetic.
if correct i expect it has gone towards the new detailed drawings and structual calcs for jamies op on his annoying nostill noises!!

True, i have no argument against that.

Oh no wait, i bet neither of them do a wicked robot... haha!! gotcha!

I updated that post, Crouch has played 61 league games for us and scored 9 goals, By what Wiki said anyway. Fantastic, Elmander is slightly better.

Unlikely, i would imagine that medical will go through asap tomorrow morning and then sign him up whilst they are still refusing to let Torres hand in a transfer request and whilst Chelsea are still keeping fairly quiet.

exactly how I feel....this is the crux of it for me and I am pretty bewildered to say the least.

I know Crouch has never been prolific, but that is shocking...And I don't care what else he brings to the team, a striker is paid to score goals

Any ITKs mentioned Connor Wickman much this window? Just Ipswich are in the market for a CF (they were in for Charlie Austin before he went to Burnley) wondered if they were looking for his replacement.

In comparison, Emile Heskey is just as prolific as Peter Crouch

He signed a new contract a few weeks back.

That's 1 league goal in 23 appearances this season.

And this is why we're all going mental about bringing in a new striker.

It's also very annoying that Pav has only been given 17 league appearances and yet has managed 5 goals from them.

We really should be giving Pav more playing time than Crouch in the league.

Pav has a great record in the league. Same amount of games with 61. A massive 15 goals.

You'll be happy with one or two hot meals a week after Levy's finished negotiating with you...!:)

Were definately looking, but probably for the summer. I think we will see how Kane gets on during his loan spell, might get himself fast tracked, ahead of buying wickham.

I say dump Crouch & Defoe entirely and rotate Keane & Pav with VDV for a while. At the very least it might make the former two sit up and thing "shit, we're Harry's favourites and we aren't being played - something must be up".
