I hate all the BS Alli comes out with too. I mean, after the game he called Shelvey "A great player".

That's an important part of the winning mentality. It may not be particularly 'sporting', but the mental battle of making the opposition see 'red' and stop concentrating is a key part.

Let's not forget, the boy is a good footballer.

I couldn't agree more! Like I said I'm not condemning it, I just sit somewhere in the middle of "Everybody picks on Dele!" and "He's a rotten shit bag". He is a rotten shit bag but that's what makes him a fantastic player, not just a decent one.

Everyone collectively hates Alli, like every other set of fans out there which I'm fine with. I always wondered what it was like to have a player or players which everyone hates but you love, I used to love to hate players like Cantona, Keane, Vieira, Drogba etc.. but used to be in awe by the fact that they used to be fueled by the hate and spur them on and I'd never understand why their fans loved them so much. These players are like pantomime villains and I think if you want to be successful then you need at least one of them in your team.

Yeah you don't win anything for being nice, unfortunately.

Did I miss the WUM part he played against Newcastle. Please enlighten me where that took place in that game...on a serious note in case I'm just missing the point

the first incident with Lascalles. But Im talking in general, he does it quite a lot.

Anyway, watching the incident again, I think the ref has to take a lot of credit first seeing the stamp and second sending him off. I can think of numerous refs who are so shit they wouldnt have been aware of it happening or wouldnt have seen it.

The thing is with Alli now unfortunately his become type cast, partly through youthfulness and silly reactions to contact blocks and fouls received... In the past (I believe he as calmed down on the megs) he did nut megs to senior player a lot laughed because it was fun he is young, players went after him by fouling, he'd get high profile punditry analysis when he got sent off.
Now it's become ridiculous Alli has shown maturity he has moved on, gets continually blocked and fouled and because he is on the floor...he is a ****.

To be fair, if he would be playing for Chelsea everyone on here would be going on about how he is a "perfect fit for that bunch of cheats" etc. I love him now though, playing for us.

Love him or hate him, Dele Alli is a winner. Like many (Ronaldo, Henry, Sergio Ramos) he'll do whatever it takes to win. If that means a little over reaction/ simulation then that's what he'll do.

Like it or not, all of the great players in the modern era bend the rules to win. Even Messi. There's too much at stake not to and the refs are too inconsistent and fallible. You might even argue that if you're not trying to cheat you're not trying to win...

I don't think Dele is even doing it to win, I just think he loves getting a reaction. It's the devil in him getting a rise out of people. He thinks it's a bit of a laugh but in the wrong circumstances you can wind up the wrong person.

You say he's been typecast, but just from yesterday's game he got in Lascelles' face over a clean tackle and antagonised Shelvey prior to the red card by fouling him and then kicking or throwing the ball away to prevent the quick free kick. Obviously it doesn't excuse Shelvey revealing himself to be a quarter-wit for the fiftieth time, nor the deliberate foul by Ritchie, but let's not pretend that Alli is a victim of his past behaviour - he's a cocky and slightly snidey wind-up merchant, and is no less so now than when he first came through. He was even at it during the pre-season games against City and PSG.

I'll be honest I'm pretty sure I'd dislike Alli if I wasn't a Spurs fan. But I am so I love him.

He's a **** but he's OUR ****. Same as Pool fans with suarez, Costa at chelsea etc. Dele does those little things like gentle kick the ball away, a little trip, a push here and there. I love it and hope he does it for many year to come

They were booing Sissoko, who was playing just in front of KWP at the beginning so you may be thinking of that?

They booed KWP for a few mins as well, probably because they thought he was Sissoko

Was 100% this -they assumed it was Sissoko and then realised a few minutes in.

From Rawk during our match, a mixture of jealousy, delusion and damnright nastiness...it's beautiful.

On the Shelvy sending off
Shelvey is absolutely dreadful. Alli is absolute scum.

Stupid from Shelvey but Alli is an absolute fanny.

If your gonna stamp on his ankle don't just do it gently

I won't lie, I would have done that on a **** like Alli and have done a fair number of times playing. Unfortunately for you Jonjo you play at the top level! Christ.

Someone will absolutely break Alli one day, and it'll be quite pleasing to watch

Remember when Liverpool fans thought Shelvey would lose the rough edges and mature into a top class midfielder?....what a weekend that was

Boss talent. horrible twat.

Such bitterness that he turned them down.

May have been clean but it was hard and excessive so I can see why he reacted, was a minor incident really, against City in pre season was the same, Kompany's tackle was OTT. It's clear that opposition managers target him because they know he has a short fuse so I think it works both ways.

Can I just remind people that typing creative ways of spelling out the 'c' word will result in a ban. If you have to use it, type the word out in full and let our censor do it's thing. Trying to find a way round it will violate some advertising deals we have in place to pay for the site so this is not treated favourably.

Right, carry on.

That's ITK isn't it? Something to do with signing a **** who comes with huge advertising revenue?
