Assuming Ade is still injured then probably the same team as Reading last week but with Dawson or Caulker for Gallas and maybe Dempsey for Lennon.

Noticed Aaron Lennon coming under a bit of criticism for his decision making some fair others a bit hard, well for me he is on the verge of becoming a great player you can't teach pace, positioning and work rate I believe his up there with the best but what has badly let Lennon down is his lack of goals it seems he visible gets nervous anytime he sees the whites of the goal post, at times too his final ball can leave questions...I'd still have Lennon in my team though (contradiction maybe)

Would prefer Lloris and Caulker but suppose their time will come.

...............Friedel
Walker Gallas Caulker Vertonghen
Sandro Huddlestone Dembele
......Lennon Defoe Bale

Vertonghen has got experience playing left back for Belgium, Naughton looks to be injuried so is the logical solution, Bale would be the next.

I feel that The Sig has offered less in his total minutes than Clint offered last night. I would start the team from Lazio with only Gallas coming back in for Caulker or Naughton depending on fitness. Naughton had a blinder last night (with the one error towards then end aside). Also, I think that Clint has more to his all round game than the Sig.

I was all for Brad returning but I was SO impressed with Hugo (great name!) despite him having little to do that I think that we'll regret him not starting.

Lloris
Walker Gallas/Dawson/Caulker Vertonghen Bale
Dembele Sandro Sigurdsson
Lennon Ade (Defoe) Dempsey

Not bothered which of Gallas/Dawson/Caulker plays, they're all capable

I'd much prefer Ade to start if he's fit, if not Defoe starts obviously

I'd put Bale at LB because even though playing two of Gallas/Dawson/Caulker and slotting Vertonghen over would probably be fine, I'd rather let Vertonghen keep developing his rhythm at CB and Bale should offer more attacking intent (and has been not great at LW lately). Dempsey cutting in as an inside forward would offer us some more goal threat and leave space for Bale's rampaging runs that made his name.

With Adebayor out, I'd go:

Lloris
Walker Gallas Caulker Vertonghen

Sigurdsson Sandro Dembele

Lennon Dempsey Bale

I think AVB will go:

Friedel
Walker Gallas Vertonghen Naughton

Sigurdsson Sandro Dembele

Lennon Defoe Bale

or he might go same back four but stick with thursday's front 6.

--------Sandro Dembele
lennon Dempsey Bale
-----------Defoe

Lloris

Walker Caulker Vertoghen Bale

Sandro Dembele

Lennon Siggy Dempsey

Adebayor (please...)

How long's Disco Benny out for?

If Naughton fit, Bale to move upfield in place of Dempsey.

I don't think I want to see another player (who hasn't had an opportunity to do so) start more for this squad than Townsend.

He looks every bit as dangerous in making space for himself as Lennon but he's actually got the balls to shoot when he thinks there's an opportunity, and his final ball seems to be pretty darn good.

If Naughton is injured then I'd move Bale back there and put Dempsey in. I don't like the idea of moving Veronghen away from centre back while he's still improving there and looking increasingly like making the position his.
As for Lloris and Caulker coming in, as this is probably the most contentious point for most people, I just think that Lloris becoming number 1 is an inevitability (surely we all think this) based on the fact that he is the better keeper, so regardless of Brads feelings/ what he's done for us so far I just believe that it doesn't make sense to delay putting Hugo in. If we know that he's going to be the better choice in 2 months time, then we know that he's the better choice now. We're not dealing with a young kid who needs to acclimatise, we're dealing with one of the worlds top goalkeepers with a lot of League, Champions League and International Tournament experience. As for Caulker, we're once again not exactly throwing in someone at the deep end, he's played all of last season as first choice in the Premier League and he did remarkably well, as he has done at every level he's had to take on so far. The only argument in keeping Gallas ahead of him is experience and helping Vertonghen acclimatise, something which I think ignores the fact that Vertonghen looks to be our best defender already, has captained one of Europes biggest clubs before we signed him and looks like a Marvel super hero to boot.
Sorry that was an accident. Quite agree with you actually.

Is there not someway of editing ratings??
