Four changes to the team that started against Liverpool on Thursday night. Toby Alderweireld, Davinson Sanchez, Moussa Sissoko and Gareth Bale come in for Serge Aurier, Matt Doherty, Eric Dier and Harry Kane. Alfie Devine is on the bench for the first time in the Premier League.
Congratulations to Hugo Lloris, who makes his 350th appearance for the Club this evening! He's only the 25th player in our history to reach the 350 mark.

TEAM FORM: - Brighton - DLWWD --------- Spurs - WDWWL -------
(All Competitons)

We will be looking to return to winning ways in the Premier League when we travel to the Amex on Sunday evening to take on Brighton & Hove Albion. We suffered a 3-1 defeat at home to champions Liverpool on Thursday night, while Brighton will enter this weekend's contest off the back of a goalless with fellow strugglers Fulham.
Brighton have won three, drawn nine and lost eight of their 20 Premier League matches this season, with a total of 18 points leaving them in 17th position in the table, just four points clear of 18th-placed Fulham. The Seagulls shared the points with Fulham at the Amex on Wednesday evening, with the result following a 1-0 victory away to Leeds United on January 16.Graham Potter’s 's side have actually only lost two of their last eight in England's top flight, but a lack of wins this season has left them in a difficult position in the table.

Brighton will certainly be wary of picking up another disappointing result on Sunday considering that their next match is away to Liverpool on February 3, while they also face a tough trip to a revitalised Burnley on February 6 before tackling Leicester City in the FA Cup.Potter's team actually beat us 3-0 when we locked horns in the corresponding match last season, but we have recorded 2-1 victories in the last two meetings, both of which were at our home at the Tottenham Hotspur Stadium in December 2019 and November 2020 respectively.

We, as mentioned, will enter Sunday's contest off the back of a 3-1 defeat at home to Liverpool on Thursday night, and the result was even more damaging considering that Kane picked up injuries to both of his ankles, meaning that the striker is facing a few weeks on the sidelines. We had been on an eight-game unbeaten run in all competitions before the clash with the Reds, and we will be desperate to return to winning ways ahead of a huge London derby against Chelsea team on February 4.
A record of nine wins, six draws and four defeats from 19 matches has seen us collect 33 points, which has left us in sixth position in the table, four points behind fourth-placed Liverpool bur we have a game in hand and eleven points behind leaders Manchester City but again we have a game in hand. Our team are also still in the Europa League and FA Cup, meaning that it could be a successful end to the season for us despite having some teething problems thus far this term. Our away form this season has been impressive, meanwhile, winning five of our nine matches, collecting 18 points in the process, and we will be taking on a Brighton side yet to record a single victory at the Amex during the 2020-21 Premier League campaign.

Brighton will again be without the services of Jose Izquierdo,Florin Andone, Tariq Lamptey, Danny Welbeck and Alireza Jahanbakhsh this weekend through injury, while Jason Steele is a doubt. The Seagulls did not pick up any fresh issues against Fulham, though, and there is a chance that Potter could decide to select the same XI that took to the field against Scott Parker’s side. Neal Maupay could again be joined by Leandro Trossard in the final third of the field, although Aaron and Percy Tau are options for change in the attacking positions.

As for us, Kane will miss out with the ankle issues that he picked up against Liverpool, while Lo Celso and Reguilon have also been ruled out through injury. Dele is still struggling with a tendon problem, although it is unlikely that he will be involved even if he proves his fitness as a loan exit could be sanctioned before the end of the month. Jose has already confirmed that Rodon will keep his spot in the starting XI, but Toby and Moura are pushing for spots in the side. Kane's absence could see Son pressed into action through the middle, although Bale, Lamela and Vinicius, are also options for Jose who could stick with a three-man defence.

Apply motivation, concentration and composure and we should win, but we have read this book before

Hope we play the following lineup, although it's unlikely:

Lloris
Tanganga Alderweireld Rodon Davies
Sissoko Hojbjerg
Ndombele
Bale Vinicius Son

Not sure what happened with Aurier and Doherty has been woeful, I'd like to see Tanganga at right back. Sissoko baco in to help protect the back four and Ndombele more license to get forward.

Toby in to ping accurate passes forward to Vinicius, who needs to prove himself in the PL, along with Bale. Perfect time for them, now Kane is out.

If they are given a run of games and are still not up to it, then fine, they aren't what we need. Giving them 10-20 mins here and there isn't helping anyone.

I know Bale doesn't look up to it, but give him games, you can always take him off, at least Mouronho can say he is giving him a chance to get into a rhythm of playing and building match fitness, same with Vinicius.

Lamela and Moura aren't doing enough when they play and although I rate Bergwijn, he hasn't scored or assisted many goals, but he'd be the first choice to replace Bale or Vinicius.

Just really really hope that Mourinho plays Vinicius. He's anyway shown that he's the ideal replacement for Kane with his hold-up and link-up play.

He was brought in to be back up for Kane, if we find play him now, in a game we need to win if we're serious about top 4, then when are we?

Reading all the comments in this thread (and others) it’s ovbious that the confidence in the team is currently low.

José is not exactly know to be good in crises periods like these. I fear that a draw/loss against Brighton will kick start a circus of blame games and low morales in the squad. A beginng of the end so to say.

Fuck off with any tactical high road and just set the team up to score. Rather than protecting the weak defence, we must mitigate Kane’s absence by prioritising goal scoring freedom. I’m thinking Lucas Moura and Gareth Bale on a license to thrill. We have players who are of good quality but prone to individual errors. We know this,
that’s the squad we have and frankly why some of our players play for us and not City. So then the message can’t be “don’t make mistakes”. The message now should be “just score as much as you can and let’s hope for the best”.

March is in good form, we need a solid RB so if Doherty doesn't start we should win this.

i feel Arsenal on our shirt tails will not help..the 9 point gap is slowly eroding. Must win today - BHA are awful at home and we are very good away so no excuses.

Without Reggie we don’t have the quality going forward from FB to justify a back 5 so I’d go flat back four with more attacking options up top as we know they’ll be really compact and hard to break down.
Sissoko, PEH and Tanguy in the middle with Bale, Son and CV up top.
Absolutely no idea about the back, might as well get the tombola out...

That last half sentence is never going to happen.
